The house and room were spotlessly clean per my wife. A street parking permit was extra at $17.50 per week. No problems finding parking spot. The 2nd floor bedroom was small (~10' x 10') and the bed was only a double - we are used to a queen-size. Room wouldn't accomodate a larger bed. The sheets were flannel, which was much appreciated during a cold December stay. The private bath was just 3 or 4 steps down the hall. The bathtub was large and had a handheld shower head, but no shower curtain. I prefer a shower stall. The lights for shaving were overhead and to the left, so not the best. The doors to the bedroom and bathroom were vertically split, so they weren't as soundproof or private as solid doors, but this really didn't present any real problems during our stay. The bedroom provided minimal storage options, almost requiring living out of your suitcases. I would have preferred a low dresser with drawers instead of the trunk provided at the end of the bed for holding suitcases. I ended up putting my underwear on the lower shelf of the nightstand alongside the bed, and socks, wallet, keys, notes, etc. on open bookshelves on one wall. The only provision for hanging clothes was a rotating clothes rack with a bunch of hangers. The first floor living room had a good size TV for viewing. The adjacent Dining Room's table was well provisioned with fresh fruit, juice, cereals, toast, bread, rolls, etc. and yogurt, jams, tea, coffee for breakfast. Most furniture were good quality antiques, and comfortable upholstered couches and chairs, with nice photos and pictures hanging on tastefully painted walls. Eleanor has traveled extensively and has many books on travel and other topics. She was very accomodating for our early breakfast needs at times, and adapting to our forgetting to take the house keys with us on one day.…
