Spent a week with my wife and daughter in this hotel. Choose it because of its proximity to Norman Williams Street. The Manager, Mr. Ilesanmi was quite nice as I called him after getting his number from the hotel web site. He equally arrange a pick up and drop off from the airport. The driver is such a wonderful man. The staff were all nice and for the room though smaller than I expected, had all we needed including wifi and comfy beddings. Breakfast? Hmmm...
First, I booked and paid a room for three people, but we were given a small room with only one double bed and it was not possible to have an extra bed. The wi-fi internet connection was not working with the user ID and password they gave me. The staff was not able to solve the problem. In the end, we left after only one night and we easily found a cheaper and more comfortable accomodation. The only positive note goes to the the girl at the desk, who was gentle, patient and friendly
We'll located in Victoria Island At the other side of the city for the airport Good security Initially had a problem at checking as I had no Nigerian currency as just arrived from Benin None of the major banks would change usd or euro!! No formal exchanges No street changers except in Lagos Island And my Irish bank card would not work here! Or credit card Didn't change at the border due to too many hustlers and it was around 1600 pm So I said I would pay in usd One of the receptionists was trying to give me a bad rate of 140 Naira to usd until I insisted it was 160 I told her she would be getting a review here from a big reviewer so she backed down Room itself was very nice Great wifi Nice bathroom and great shower Very good ac and bed Only about 4 TV channels though with no CNN despite it being in lobby Breakfast was very poor though but this is always the case in Africa unless five star Juice was extra!! 125 usd a night for single Other places dearer Nigeria,as in all the non tourist areas of Africa is an expensive destination for everything The border police will be looking for bribes I told them I was working for the UN. Which I am not And got away with it Some bogus immigration guys with fake looking ids too Don't give them your passport and don't let anyone take your bags Seems safe in Lagos but not for a first time Africa traveler Enjoy…
