Just got home from a weekend away at Fawndale Oaks, feeling super relaxed. Want to start with the owners Shannon and Cary Parks are the friendliest hosts, from the moment you make your booking to the moment you leave, you feel like you have known these lovely folks for years. Shannon went out of her way to get RV sites for our family in an area of the park that would work best for us. You are personally escorted to your site and it is ensured that your RV has the best placement for hookups. The park itself is on the small side but has all that you want for a weekend getaway. Pool, store for goodies you might want / need, and hiking trailers through the hills behind the park. The park has history to it as well. Shannon and Cary are members of a train club and there is an old engine on site that carried all kinds of things up and down the north state in the day. 3 fire engines of different vintages, 2 of which are still working engines in case of need. Behind a fenced area you will spy a mysterious swimming pool and older buildings. Speaking with Shannon cleared up the mystery and it was one of the original water slides in the area before water works park opened up. The park is small and with COVID restrictions and fires has been hit hard the last couple of years. The owners work hard to ensure that all amenities work well and carry out all park maintenance themselves. Yes the park is situated right on I5 but honestly I'm a super light sleeper and it didn't bother me one bit during the night or during the day. So great being in nature that it's very easy to turn it out. Come see for yourself and enjoy a little slice of all fashioned hospitality.…
If you’re looking for a place with old school charm, log cabin style rooms with a pool, pool table, BBQ area this place is where you should stay. Had two families and rented their two suites room 1 and 5. Check in was easy with super friendly staff, rooms were very clean with bedroom has two queen beds, living room with great couch and two love seats and good size separate kitchen with everything you’ll need. Bathroom spacious and again everything was very clean and nice. We went to Shasta Lake during the day then came back and BBQd (bring charcoal) both nights and ate in gazebo where bbq is. Plenty of space for families, great price and lots of fun! We will be back!
I so hate to leave this review but I must as I would appreciate someone else doing it for me. I booked here only because on Google reviews it showed 4 stars. I am dumbfounded how that was possible as this is a perfect example of Sanford and Son's movie set. If you're not old enough to understand that reference I am simply saying this is a pack-rats heaven. Now why the 2-stars you may ask. The owners are fantastic, massively friendly, and very accommodating people. I could of talked with them both for hours. I so wish they would just clean the bathrooms, turn in their recyclables, and just do basic tidying up of the place. It could be wonderful but it isn't. Would I ever stay there again - definitely no. However, I would love to have coffee with both of the owners to just chat.…
Good spot for a quick stop, but not a resort destination. It's practically in the breakdown lane of I-5. The pool was nice and clean and the store seemed adequate. The staff was very nice and helpful. I accidentally pulled into the RV park up the street and glad I didn't stay at that one filled with dumpy immobile RVs and a much smaller pool.
