This was an amazing experience! If you’re considering it, keep in mind that an international driver’s license is required. We booked the 2-hour tour, but with heavy traffic, it ended up lasting over 2.5 hours—plus an additional 30 minutes for paperwork, costume selection, an instructional video, and hands-on go-kart operation training.
Well-Organized Tour & Friendly Guides
The guides were fantastic—they all spoke great English, provided clear and thorough instructions, and prioritized both safety and fun. Despite the traffic, they never rushed us. Instead, they ensured we enjoyed the ride, took breaks, and captured memorable moments.
Driving Through Tokyo’s Iconic Landmarks
Tokyo traffic can be intense, especially since we passed through some of the busiest locations:
• The Imperial Palace
• Shibuya Scramble Crossing
• Tokyo Tower
We had two photo stops: one after Shibuya Crossing (a surreal experience driving through such an iconic location) and another at Tokyo Tower, where we were able to step out of the karts and take close-up shots. Our guide was incredibly patient, taking multiple angles and even group videos—highly appreciated!
Capturing the Experience: Chest Mounts & GoPros
One great feature they offer is a phone/GoPro chest mount, available for checkout. I hadn’t planned on using one, but I’m so glad I did! It made capturing timelapse footage and driving videos effortless. Given that onesie costumes can make it tricky to reach into pockets, the chest mount was a game-changer—no worries about dropping your phone while taking pictures at red lights. Even when the road got bumpy, the mount held up perfectly.
Smooth & Safe Ride
The karts were in excellent condition, and the tour was well-coordinated. Our group was split into two smaller groups (one with 8 people, the other with 6) to ensure a smoother ride. Each group had a front and rear guide—ours had a lead car in the front and a minivan in the back, while the other had a car and a motorcycle. This organization made navigation easy and ensured no one got lost.
Quick & Easy Photo Sharing
As soon as we returned, the guides quickly airdropped all photos and videos to our phones. Pro tip: To make it easier, have them send everything to one person in your group and share them later.
Final Thoughts

• Great equipment—karts, costumes, and accessories were in excellent condition.

Incredible experience to see Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Tower fly by, driving your own Gocart. Insane, but it still felt totaly safe. Good instructions and support team all the way. I can recomend Japan Kart.

Japan Kart was an absolute blast! The best two hours driving through the streets of Tokyo, living my childhood dream of racing like Mario Kart. The late afternoon tour starting at 4:45 PM was perfect—you get to experience the city’s stunning transformation from day to night with incredible views. The guides were awesome and made the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to add some excitement to their Tokyo trip!

We had an amazing experience on the 16:40, 2-hour tour with a stop in Shibuya. Watching the city transition from sunset to dazzling night lights was truly breathtaking. The crew was exceptionally friendly, professional, and kind, providing clear and thorough safety instructions.
The route covered all the major landmarks, and having both lead and closing cars made us feel very safe and comfortable. Despite the snow, rain and cold, we had an absolute blast and can’t wait to do another tour with them in the summer. Highly recommended!

An excellent very well organised tour loads of friendly staff on hand to assist snack and drinks included in price. Good costumes should you decide to dress (much more fun to do so . So much attention from the public puts a smile on their faces and on yours. Excellent tour well worth the money so much fun. And a big plus no big upsell . The team take plenty of photos and videos and send them free Go try it and have loads of fun. Big thanx to all the team. As a note I never make reviews good or bad but felt this needed to be praised for their fantastic professionalism and to everyone having a great time.
