    One the best things we did.

    This was the highlight of our trip. Michael was wonderful and so informative. The food was incredible. It felt more like being with friends than with an instructor. If anything, I would have liked a little time to shop for our own food. But that is nothing bad. If you have any mobility issues, know there were 50-ish tight steps to climb.

    If you like to cook OR eat, do your best to experience this
    Top notch; We visited the market to collect ingredients, prepped food in a relaxed kitchen environment and had a delicious dining experience, all while learning Sicilian culinary and political history and brilliant and practical cooking and prep techniques. Michael humbly shares his own Sicilian learning odyssey as he masterfully orchestrates his visitors' meal-making and sharing. Simply- don't miss this.

    Absolutely worth doing! Michael was a great instructor, and the small class was a lot of fun. Food was great, too. I cannot recommend this enough.

    I wish everywhere I went had an experience that Michael and the team at Sicilian Pantry put together. A walk through the market explaining the local seasonal produce, how to spot quality and tips and tricks to make sure you walk away with the best on offer. Then after collecting what we were going to cook, we headed back to his lovely studio. Michael then showed us how to prepare the food we had just collected, answering any questions we had, he was an excellent teacher. All sitting down together for lunch, Michael joined us and as a local you really got an insight into the Palermo life. Excellent experience would recommend to anyone and everyone, my partner and I can’t wait to get home and try the recipes again, all which are given to you at the end of your day.

    Michael was the perfect host for a truly wonderful day of Sicilian cooking. If you are wanting a day filled with delicious food, great company, and a few historical learnings as well - then I could not recommend this enough!

    This class is worth doing! Michael is a great host, with impressive knowledge about the local cuisine & cooking. Michael explained everything clearly & was easy to talk to. The food was spectacular - unique & tasty menu. 100% recommend!

    Cooking class was both great fun and delicious!!! Our group of 5 adult family members enjoyed the stroll theough the market to purchase our ingredients, and preparing, and consuming yummy sicilian cuisine!!!

    Truly an outstanding learning experience from Chef Michael Sampson's The Sicilian Pantry cooking class whose winter menu: panelle, pasta con carciofi, involtini de carne, & granita de arancia was an enlightening education in market shopping of fresh & high quality ingredients & prepping/cooking methods - one can still learn skills & food background, especially in a warm, friendly, and engaging kitchen in central Palermo. Chef Sampson communicates & instructs clearly and is supportive of his students in a welcoming & professional manner. The resulting final 4-course meal is an explosion of tastes & flavors that honestly represent Sicily. The Sicilian Pantry will exceed your expectations.

    Michael makes cooking fun.
    We had a great time. Michael is so knowledgeable about the foods,where to get them and what to look for .My husband needed some convincing to go but once he was there he had a lot of fun and Michael made sure everyone took part in the preparation .We all learned a lot about the Sicilian culture and their traditional dishes.
