Too $ for what you get

The driver didn’t know that lunch was included with our private tour as the cruise was not an option in November, which led to an awkward and embarrassing situation at lunch. The car he used had a strong odor and there was stains on the seat. The side of car on passenger door was slightly damaged as well. There was no bottle of waters provided during the drive which I found interesting since in less expensive small group tours with other companies they always have bottle water easily within reach. The driver Adnun did try to make conversation but the entire trip felt awkward especially after the lunch issue.

Also, we appreciate that you are taking your time to review our tour and share your tour experience with us. Your feedback is very important to us and we use this to improve our tours and get better in what we love to do: providing amazing tour experiences. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your tour on a 5 star level - which is actually our target. Our tour description is clear about the inclusions and exclusions of our tours. Also our professional guides are aware of this so I can only imagine that there must have been some kind of misunderstanding. I have followed this up with your guide and your lunch was taken care of and included. The reason why the tour you have booked is fairly high-priced is, that you booked a private tour and you had the guide and the van to yourself for an entire day. We also offer a Small Group version of this tour. We apologize though, that the van was not in the perfect state that it usually is and your guide has informed us about this on the day of the tour and we have already had it professionally cleaned and polished. Enjoyed a Great time

The whole trip was well planned and very enjoyable. Wineries and lunch places chosen was great. Guide Hugo was fun, caring and knowledgeable. Had a great time!
I didn't have problems this time, however, would suggest to tour agency that a wine tasting tour should be prepared some space for the participants to buy wine. This group didn't get much but some of the wine tasting groups I've joined have bought a lot of bottles and would have been a problem for this trip.
It is otherwise a highly recommended trip!!

My husband and I did the Wachau Valley Private Tour with Marco. We had a wonderful time. Marco was very engaging and knowledgeable about the area and the wine. We highly recommend this tour and Marco as a guide. We have already decided to return back to Austria next summer!

We were a family group 10 with kids and teens from American and the UK. We had such a great day with Vienna Explorer. Great communication beforehand. Our guide Hugo was FANTASTIC. So informative. Great with kids. Super fun. All and all a great day! Would highly recommend!!

Melk Abby is beautiful. Tour was just A good amount of information I was disappointed we did not have time to see the gardens which was the reason we had reversed the itinerary. Boat ride Nice though not spectacular, we did see some castle ruins and a storm was coming in Next tour was a small historic village, which was primarily shopping. The Corpus Christi festival had just ended so there was a live band in town
Ended at the winery where we got not just a taste but full glasses this was a lovely location. The trip was pricey but we never would have found this on our own. Driver Hugo picked us up right on time, kindly dropped us off at Schunbrunn Palace for the evening concert and arranged with the winery to pack a snack to go
It was a very nice day and did not rain on us until we were waiting for the concert 😅

Unfortunately, we have to respect some time constraints on the tour, so that you have some time to discover and enjoy the rest of the Wachau Valley, which is just as beautiful and interesting as the Melk Abbey and its gardens. Great experience
We were a group of 3 and really enjoyed our tour. Our guide was Marcos, very knowledgeable. A very good guide. We enjoyed the wine tasting very much.

We wish Viator would offer customers an option to choose between an extra wine tasting experience instead of the boat tour to the Abbey.

To be honest, we were a bit bored on the boat after 30 minutes. Overall, we enjoyed the tour and definitely recommend it.

Don’t miss this!
We loved the day we spent with Jan in the Wachau Valley! He was incredibly knowledgeable and had an easy going personality. Gorgeous countryside, great wine, excellent lunch stop, cruise was very nice, and the Melk Abbey was beautiful. We had a perfect mix of car time versus activity time. This is not to be missed when visiting Vienna. We actually enjoyed this more than our time in the city! Thank you, Jan!

Great trip to the scenic Wachau Valley

We booked a private tour at Vienna Explorer for 6 persons to the scenic Wachau Valley. Got picked up in time in the morning by our guide Marco in a comfortable Mercedes van. Had two wine tastings, a nice lunch and a river cruise from Spitz to Melk. Marco was a great guide, he had good knowledge about the valley, the wineries and the history of the district. This in addition to him being a nice guy made us very much satisfied with our day. The order process and communication with Vienna Explorer was easy and efficient, they understood what we was looking for and delivered accordingly.

Great, recommend.
IVAN...was our tour guide. I have been on a lot of tours but this was the best! Ivan the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Ivan took the time to explain ALL about the regional grapes and the wines made from them. This tour was well worth the time and money. Ivan however made it especially wonderful. Highly recommend this tour!

Beautiful Countryside, Informative Guide

We were pleasantly surprised to find that our group of six were the only people booked for our van on this tour. Other smaller groups were put together in two other vans. We appreciated having our guide (Amir) all to ourselves. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the area and the wines. He did try to give us each our own preferences of wine. We were running a little ahead of schedule so he added a quick stop at the old tower in St. Michaels. We all fully enjoyed the day.
