The bikes were in great condition with panniers and a free water bottle as well as helmets and locks. Great info from Denise before we left the shop. Really enjoyed the Classic Cars Museum and the Little Engine Cafe. We had lunch at The Grape Escape Cafe in the old factory block - well worth the slight detour off the main track with exceptional food and drinks in a beautiful garden setting. Highlight was Mapua Wharf at the end and had some fabulous local Pinot Noir wines or local craft beers in very comfy couches whilst we waited for the mini bus ride back to Nelson and our lovely driver also dropped us off at our hotel on the way. Thank you to all staff for a fabulous day out! Nicole

Great bike rental. We tried tandem bike but proved super hard so we traded in for regular bikes. Jake was super helpful. They planned an easy 20km 3 hour route. Good easy bike path and minimal road riding.

We rode their high quality bikes hard all day and they still had more than 50% battery life when we returned them. Staff nailed our itinerary and provided detailed directions. Couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful.

Organized a bespoke ride with Kiwi Journeys to incorporate bike riding, wineries, touring, scenery , and a hiking day.
Well organized , friendly team with great communication. Excellent well maintained bikes and e-bikes to use.
Set up on day one with full debrief of trail and any potential issues that we may encounter. The Great Taste Trail is very well sign posted and so easy to follow.
Accommodation was all arranged and the hosts where all so accommodating and hospitable.
Nelson to Mapua take the railway route as the coastal route is along the water ( nice views to one side but main road to left and noisy and industrial)
Ferry ride to Mapua brief and cute.
Good choices of eating in Mapua.
Wonderful wineries ( Neudorf - fantastic views of vines and cellar door and dining at Gravity )
Mountain Bike Trail Park great end to ride.
Abel Tasman Shuttle to do day hike - choice to take easy option and hike from Apple Tree Bay to Anchorage and split off to afew different observation areas.
Shuttles and staff where amazing and helpful
Would really recommend this company and in working in making your unique experience that caters to you.
Can be seen as quite costly but if you encounter any issues your problems are well sorted and that helps with peace of mind whilst in holiday

Really lovely cycle out to Rabbit Island and back with lots of stops and cafes. Bikes were great and maps were easy to follow.

Kiwi Journeys organised the above 5 day trip for us and everything was excellent.
The bikes were easy to ride (e-bikes) with good battery power and comfortable seats.
The accommodation organised was really top notch, the last one with a swimming pool which was awesome.
Nil issues with the movement of our luggage2.
Staff really friendly and helpful.
We are already organising next years with them.

We hired bikes for the day and found Kiwi Journeys to be professional and friendly. Bikes were of a high standard and were set up and waiting for us on arrival. Detailed briefing before we set off and well organised drop-off at Mapua. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely time on the cycle tour, with two days ocean kayaking in the middle of our four days cycling. Everything was very well organised and went to plan with pickups and drop offs. Where possible, I pre booked our dinners and it was already great.
We used e-bikes which were a huge help! I tried to use pedal power wherever possible but loved the option of hitting turbo when facing a steep hill
Accommodation was sorted well, though there is a range of accommodation, most don’t have air conditioning in the bedrooms, which is a huge issue for me, but probably not for others.
We felt supported by kiwi journeys and they were happy and prompt answering our never ending questions!
We will book through them again to cycle the west coast in the future.

Great service from the Kiwi Journey team, they were incredibly helpful from the moment we made our booking. Great tips given about where to stop since we started our cycle tour really late. The actual ride was "ok" the last 20mins was the best part and then arriving at the incredibly beautiful Mapua was mind blowingly gorgeous.
