We had a terrific guide- Boun who did a great job explaining the history of Luang Prabang. He told great stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. He knew all the tricks of the trade and picked the best spot to gives alms to the monks and a quiet spot at a temple to watch the sunset. He catered the day to our needs and wants. We loved it! Highlight of our trip in Luang Prabang!
This tour packs a massive day starting with the morning Alms ceremony, visiting many temples, the national museum and of course Kuang Si Waterfalls.
The waterfalls especially were an absolute must, absolutely beautiful and great for a swim. Words cannot describe just how incredible the waterfall is.
If you’ve only got a short time in Luang Prabang this tour will ensure you see everything and more that this city has to offer.
Our guide was informative and friendly, would highly recommend this tour.

This was a great private tour with guide and comfortable private van with air conditioning. My guide “Jimmy” (his Anglophone name) was great. Good English, really patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Went swimming in the waterfalls. Bring a bathing suit and towel. There is a bathroom to change in nearby. I would not recommend the Green Jungle Cafe & Restaurant near the falls. Not sanitary at all. Bad service and mediocre food. The location is good, but maybe for a drink only. I really enjoyed Luang Prabang and wish I had allocated more days in Laos. Also, I wish I had purchased some hand crafted goods, which were beautiful. They were expensive at the craft market, but in retrospect, I wish I had bought some. I didn’t stop to try the water Buffalo ice cream, but other people told me it was good, so worth a try. Also found a good French style restaurant and a French bakery while on this tour. Yum.

Brilliant tour! Thin was extremely knowledgable, friendly and helpful. We got to see not only much more of Luang Prabang than we would have done on our own but also learnt much more about it it also as Thin spoke excellent English. He also was easy to get along with which made the day as a whole much more enjoyable!

Our very enthusiastic guide, Jack, was extremely knowledgeable about the city and brought us to places we never could have found on our own. The highlights included an early morning participation in almsgiving to the local monks in a quiet part of the city far from the tourists. With nearly 100 monks passing in procession, this was a very moving experience for us. Jack also took us to a number of temples and gave us very thorough explanations of the practices and customs, and told us some wonderful folktales that were depicted on the temple walls. When we expressed an interest in learning about the problem of the unexploded ordinance in Laos from the bombs dropped during the US-Vietnam War (there are reportedly about 80 million unexploded cluster bombs across the countryside in Laos), Jack added a stop at a museum documenting this very severe problem. Though the museum was closed, Jack tracked down the manager and got her to let us in and see the exhibits.
We ended our day with a beautiful trip to the waterfalls, then the sunset over the Mekong River. Jack frequently offered to take photos for us, too, so we have more than awkward selfies. We could not have asked for a better day or a better guide!

Jack (our tour guide) was knowledgeable, patient, and never rushed us. He was extremely knowledgeable about Buddhist history and religion, and gave us a real insight into his culture. We are very appreciative of him and would highly recommend booking a tour with Jack.

Indeed, Luang Prabang is still the center of Buddhist faith in Laos, and its World Heritage temples and towns are part of people's daily lives. We did this wonderful and informative tour with Thin, and he was absolutely amazing! He taught us a lot about Luang Prabang, its history, and local Buddhist customs, and both his English and Thai were phenomenal! On top of that, he was very friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of for the entire day. I definitely recommend going on this tour with him!

Thank you for joining our Luang Prabang City Tour and Kuang Si Waterfalls and for taking the time to write a review. We are glad that you found Tin's guide to be wonderful and informative. Luang Prabang's World Heritage sites are still places where people live, rather than ruins that have already left people's lives. We are trying to offer our visitors a city tour with a local touch, as we believe that in touring a World Heritage Site of such a character, it is better to talk directly with a guide who is familiar with the locals.
