We took the bus via Celebrity Cruises. Ship docked late and getting off was chaotic. This was NOT the bus company’s fault. The city has lots of traffic, road work, and some narrow streets. It was slow going. We didn’t even get off the bus because the timing to wait for the next bus was iffy and making a connecting bus back to the port was a challenge. What we saw was interesting and the bus tour personnel were great. A big salute to the bus driver who safely navigated places where it looked like we wouldn’t fit. Top of the bus was open air, but covered. Definitely where you would want to sit. No AC below inside the bus. This tour would work better if you were in town or in port for a full day. We were only there a few hours.

Lot of money to sit in traffic jams. Not a lot to see and not your usual informative city sightseeing trip although the staff themselves were excellent

Good coverage of the major areas and good locations of the stops to get on and off for closer investigation and walks. One minor issue was my first station in the bus did not have working audio. Changing seats fixed that. About 6 or 7 languages are available on the audio to inform you on the areas as you drive.

Bought tickets online but when arrived was told we would need to pay an extra $30 to get to the old city via taxi, in order to get on the bus. Or take a 45 minute walk to get there. We would also not be able to return to the port via bus either
Absolute joke the bus takes passengers from the cruise port if they book through cruise line and therefore the bus comes to and from the port, but you can’t get on the bus.
We refused to pay anymore so did not use the tickets so was a total waste of money as refunds aren’t given unless cancelled in advance.
Talking to other passengers who did pay the extra, they weren’t happy & said they were unable to get on and off as it was too busy.
I would avoid using this HOHO bus service. Also the taxi drivers don’t take no for an answer and get very pushy, making it difficult to exit the port.
Very upsetting and stressful experience which totally ruined our visit here.😡
There is no warning that this is the case on the tickets or booking confirmation.

They didn’t tell us that we had to take a cab to the bus. I was told the bus was just outside the cruise port. In reality after a long walk we found a rep that informed us we were far from the bus. He offered us a round trip for $30. We took his transportation and when we were dropped off we were told to meet at the same location 2 hours later. We got back there a half hour earlier. We waited for an hour and the transportation never arrived. We took a taxi back to the port for only 10. He took us to the ship with only a very short walk. If I had known this I could have taken a taxi right near the ship to meet the bus and saved $20 and we wouldn’t have had to walk a mile. This was a terrible experience and I feel we were ripped off.

Booked the two day ticket. Day one not bad, today all the buses seemed to be set aside for Cruise ship passengers. We arrived at stop 2 15 mins before the timetable time. A number of buses turned up just for cruise passengers. We were told they would let us know when the standard bus arrived. Forty five minutes later another bus stopped (before the bus stop). On the windscreen was plastered a Ships Cruise company sign, so we didn’t get on, only to be told that was the bus, and we had missed it and would have to wait another 45 minutes. We didn’t! The second day as a complete waste of money.

The bus was clean and on time. There was so much traffic that it took 45 minutes to go 1/2 mile. In the heat it was sweaty hot. The tour sped up after that but if you hop off the next bus is not for 45 minutes and our ship was to depart at 1:30 so it was not an option.

The bus itself was fine. Earphones didn’t work, but not a big deal. We really wanted to see the walled city & they offered a guided walking tour. We were in a group of 10 or so, mostly people from our cruise. Our guide attempted to give us a tour, but I didn’t hear a word he said for a painful hour and a half. They need to change the name to the mauled city, because that’s what you feel like after you finally escape it’s walls. I have never experienced anything quite like that in my life. The level of harassment from vendors is unbearable. It was constant, aggressive and honestly scary at times. They constantly interrupted our tour, shoving items in our faces, while we tried to hear the history of this city. We didn’t even bother getting off any other places in the city after that. I could not wait to get back to our ship and all the other people with us felt the same way. My senses were so overloaded from that experience, I honestly felt like crying. A lady in our tour had someone reach in her bag and try to steal her cellphone. Luckily, her husband saw it happening and was able to get it back after grabbing the guy by the throat. Such a shame too, because it was a beautiful city that I was looking forward to learning about.

How far is the bus stop from the cruise port?

On the Red line, it’s stop #1. Otherwise, it is a 2 minute taxi ride to the next stop.

Hola buen dia !!! no, el bus que a mi mtoco de la empresa Citysightseeing Cartagena no tenian baño, pero los recorridos entre cada parada no son muy largo, y los paisajes son bellisimos, te lo recomiendo !!!

We took the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas + Hop-On Hop-Off Cartagena route (red on their maps). We caught the bus at the Muelle de Bodeguita at 9am. The website says this bus runs from 9am-19:30pm. In fact, all 6 route choices list the same hours of operation.
