Such a fun tour! We booked day-of and it was great. Sam was the best guide and host. Loved getting to help the team set the sails and learn about the Chicago skyline from Lake Michigan!

The weather was perfect and our 5pm trip wasn’t fully sold so we loved the time on the boat. There was a large, polite crew. We enjoyed the tour and the sailing but would have preferred more focus on the architectural aspects and less on the pirates.

Nicely maintained vessel. Experienced crew. This was not a sunset cruise since the sun sets behind the skyscrapers.
Chicago skyline after sunset was beautiful! All sails where up & really enjoyed the fresh lake air away from the city & diesel fumes.

Boat is wonderful. Architecture tour info not so much. Tour guide talked slowly and rambled. Only talked about 5-6 buildings total.

We try to balance our guests time on board to let them enjoy the sailing experience with the Skyline Architecture. We appreciate you letting us know you’d prefer more narration.

My husband and I enjoyed this sailing experience. The "pirates" were awesome, so friendly and knowledgeable. Everything was well explained. I got to assist with hoisting one of the sails which was fun so I loved the interaction of this sailing experience. I wish it would have gone further out on the lake, but it is a tour of the Chicago Skyline so it delivered what was advertised. It was very relaxing and safe.

This was a fantastic experience from start and to finish but I didn’t want to end. Andy the Kid was our host and the voyage was captained by Captain Ralph. I apologize to the rest of the great crew for not remembering names. They had a great lady pirate who worked the foredeck area too.
The ship was lovely and my husband helped hoist the sails. He’s the sailing fiend.
Andy was a great host who knew lots of fun facts about the skyline of Chicago and made it entertaining. He’s from Chicago and his love of the city showed.
Next time we are going on a longer excursion if possible.
This trip is great for adults and children over 8. Its a lumber hauling schooner (I think) and guests can sit on all decks. They have the amenities-bar bathroom gifts but the trip was too fun to make use of them.
It is not suitable for those in wheelchairs simply because of safety and the ship is accessed by a 4 step stair. However if you can manage a few steps the crew will help you get seated. I’m now handicapped and use a scooter many places because I can’t walk far.
Our trip was about a hour after we set sail. I’m taking a longer trip next time.

Michael Lopez of Windy City Tall Ships was so very helpful to our family. We had a large group with both adults and children and had a problem that had to be resolved. Michael went out of his way to settle the issue with a friendly approach and pleasant attitude. Thank you Michael! We will be sure to revisit Windy City Tall Ships next year and the whole family, especially the kids, are looking forward to having lots of fun.

It was raining so we sat below deck. Unfortunately the speakers are not very good so we understood next to nothing that was said. Other than that, it was a nice little ride and we enjoyed it overall.

Great to get out on the water on a hot day in Chicago! The crew was helpful and very mindful of everyone’s safety, considering the large booms. The tour guide on the boat did a good job pointing out and describing the buildings on the skyline. Daniel, on the aft deck, was also very informative about the city and its architecture. Fun time!!
