We were in the area for a week and wanted to do some diving. Ive been diving for 30 years and a friend wanted to learn. Roberta handled the paperwork and was a fantastic contact person. Very responsive and willing to accommodate our very different diving needs. Stephane was an absolutely world class instructor. Incredibly patient and competent and simply one of the best I’ve seen.

I am happy to recommend any person considering getting certified do so with Stéphane. You won’t do better.

I’m already planning my next dives with Sayulita Entourage in the new year.

Beware of Sayulita Entourage! While vacationing with family in Sayulita in July 2022, I booked a scuba dive trip for myself and my daughter and paid in full the day before. Unfortunately, twenty minutes before we were scheduled to arrive at the dive shop, I became very sick. My daughter walked to the dive shop to let them know that we had a medical emergency and would not be able to dive. I subsequently was treated at an Urgent care facility. I kept Entourage informed of my situation including sending them my medical record from the medical clinic.

Later, I contacted the owner of Entourage and asked to be rescheduled for a dive later in the week or the following week ( if I had not recovered, I planned to send my other daughter in my place). Other than offering the possibility of a dive with a last-minute cancellation, the owner refused to reschedule or to give a refund.

If rescheduled, I offered to pay a compensation fee to support the dive masters on our missed trip. However, the owner considered our situation a cancellation (I thought it was a medical emergency), and she again refused. So, I wrote an email asking her to reconsider and pointed out that customer reviews for most companies are important and that I’d post her cancellation policy in my review.

Her attitude was “tough luck you got sick,” and she sent a stream of emails containing bizarre rants, including a veiled threat; “Now after writing what you wrote, do you really want to show up at our office, meet our crew and join our excursion?” (There will probably be a bizarre response to this review).

So use Sayulita Entourage at your own risk and understand their “draconian” cancellation policy; don’t get suddenly sick (hard not to get sick in present-day Sayulita), don’t have a heart attack, don’t have to attend to a sick family member, and don’t catch Covid-19 within 24 hours of your excursion, because you won’t receive your money back from Sayulita Entourage.

Here the bizarre response to the customer who cancelled 2 spots last minute and offered 15 usd to compensate the loss and to be rescheduled at his own discretion. What you called a veiled threat was actually a real question which came after the following message you sent : “ If you insist on your policy of no refund and no rescheduling, even in the event of a last-minute medical emergency, I will post this email to several social media sites, including The Scuba Board, Tripadviser, and Sayulita Life. I will institute a Chargeback on the Wells Fargo bank Visa card. I will advise the 60 US guests, many of whom are divers, to avoid Entourage in March when they arrive for my Daughters wedding”. My bizarre rants (what a nice choice of words) were just the answers to your emails. Even after your not so veiled threat you were offered to replace someone else’s eventual last minute cancellation, which according to what you just said shouldn’t have been a difficult matter (hard not to get sick in the present day-Sayulita, correct?) OR to pay a 20% rescheduling fee, which obviously didn’t work for you since you thought our time and your last minute cancelation were worth 15 usd. So yes, beware of Sayulita Entourage, they do have a cancelation policy and they actually apply that! What a shock and surprise must be for everyone to read this!

The entire staff was professional and amazing. We have great communication from the office staff from our first inquiry. Everything went exactly as expected. Our scuba guide, Christian, was extremely knowledgeable about the marine life and geography of the area. He took the time to make sure my husband and I were comfortable with the equipment and well prepared for each dive. The time didn’t cruising around the islands was awesome. Spectacular place and great guides to show us around.

I have been diving for over 10 years in various places around the world and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Don't let the other positive reviews deceive you but this is truly an amateur diving company combined with rude and disrespectful business practices.

Let me elaborate:
- I was told to be at the dive shop ready to go at 8:30am and nothing was ready. The crew was still trying to figure the equipment for the day, throwing into dry bags random gear sizes for the various divers. We did not leave for the port until an hour later.
- The boat that you get is a little small motorized dinghy boat, once again the equipment is thrown on the ground under benches or on the back/front of the boat. The tanks were rolling around as the boat cruised along.
- there is no fresh water to rinse gear/cameras
- there is no snacks in between dives but they did provide some water...
- there was some confusion about whose gear was whose on the boat
- for divers who hadn't dove in the last 5 years there was a brief 4 minute refresher right before getting into the water about what the equipment was
- in the water it was complete chaos. Everyone had too much weight and sank to the bottom, the visibility was poor and a few divers almost got lost a few times, and a tank that had not been secured properly to their BCD and was floating up. Then all the sudden after 35mn of diving, we are told to do a safety stop and to go back up to the surface, this happened with both dives. When it was time to get back to the boat once again all the gear was thrown on the floor as a free for all. So all in all two short 40mn dives.
- on the return trip, the "captain" made a pit stop to another boat to grab his sandwich and eat it while operating the boat
- now turning to their appalling customer service, Roberta who handles the logistics was the most rude and disrespectful individual. I was told I had to pay $25 for a lost fin strap that went missing after I had handed my fins to the boat crew. I was told that I was incompetent and should have known how to remove fins properly, I was told that I should have brought my own gear if I was so incompetent and disrespectful to other's gear. I was insulted numerous time and I was told to pay or they would just charge my credit card regardless without my consent which they ended up doing without my knowledge anyways (luckily i was able to report it to my CC company)! I was then sent various harassing emails by Roberta about it as you can see below.

Here are some positives:
- we saw lots of whales getting to the island
- we got a decent included lunch once we got back to town
- I got to dive twice for a brief 40mn hoping everyone would make it back to the boat safely

In summary
- not a safe company to dive with
- unprofessional, rude, and even unlawful management practices charging your credit card without your consent or knowledge
- do yourself a favor, take your business elsewhere and dive with another company

This very elaborate review just because you didn't want to pay for something you rent and lost?! Again, you are cheap and pathetic! One crazy review over 600...you do the math!...I wonder if you would have said the same stuff if you could have walked away without being asked for payment....Mmmm maybe not. Harassing emails...I sent you the quote for what you lost...Too bad Tripadvisor didn't let you upload them so everyone could see how much it was to replace the strap for which you offered me 5 usd (which was kind of insulting don't you think?) I told you I was charging you a security deposit and I am happy to forward your cc company the invoice for the stuff you lost which was 600 pesos to replace (over 25 usd FIY) Since you have been diving for over 10 years you should know how to use diving equipment and take care of it when it's not yours. And yes I am the nastiest person when someone doesn't respect me, my employees who you blamed for the loss and our work! You take care.

Wow! Just book with them, you won't regret it. I wholeheartedly recommend. Great crew and dive master. It's been about 3 years since we last dived and we had no issues. We even did a couple short tunnels which was new for us. On the way out we saw a school of dolphins and on the way back we saw some humpback whales up close. During the first dive we also heard them singing in the water. The dive master borrowed my GoPro a couple times to get us up close footage of some eels. I wasn't willing to put my hands anywhere near as close as he was. The website said that outings can be cancelled if a minimum number of people do not book but it ended up just being me and my wife so we had a private dive. The water was cold but they gave us 5 millimeter wet suits with booties and I didn't feel cold during the dive. Visibility was kind of poor the first dive but not terrible and we saw eels and rays. The second dive was clearer. Both had some strong currents for brief periods but we're used to Cozumel so it was fine. We saw a good variety of sea life but not quite the level we've seen in Cozumel.

We initially chose them because we stayed at Hotel Grand Palladium and our sole dive interest was the Marieta islands. Sayulita Entourage was the best option I found for convenience with a good reputation and was not price gouging as a few other dive operations appeared to be in that area. While they are based out of Sayulita, their boat is in Punta de Mita so we were able to meet them there (10 minute cab ride). Most of the other dive operators are in central Puerto Vallarta (nearly an hour away in traffic). Puerto Vallarta is also the completely wrong direction if you want to dive the Marieta islands so you get to look forward to a hour boat ride basically back to where you started if you go that route. I really think the company would benefit from making this convenience factor more clear. If they had a physical location in Punta de Mita that came up on a Google map for instance. I almost missed them as an option.

I really enjoyed hearing the whale songs and seeing the huge manta ray! The dive master was very experienced and a good leader. In January the water is clear and beautiful.

Stephane (French guy) and his team were so great!!
First of all, Roberta was fantastic to work with by email to schedule my dives and the certification schedule of my kids.
Then, the boat crew is also very friendly, helpful, and caring.
It had not dived for a very long time (9 years) and I felt at ease immediately.

We really liked the experience with Sayulita Entourage. The owners and the team on the boat are extremely nice, the gear is new and comfy (clean, thick, warm wet suits, new BCD, regulators, etc.). We were there in December and the visibility was not optimal but there are so many things to see (schools of rays, whales, all sorts of reef fish...) that it didn't bother us. Kudos to the team on the boat who really wants to create a personalized great experience for the customers.
The boat is small, which means smaller groups of divers... 5 stars to Sayulita Entourage. Thank you so much Stéphane and Roberta, Palma, Christian and Captain!

I took the PADI SCUBA class from Sayulita Entourage and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was worried that it would be all dive practicing and not get to see anything cool, but Stefan made the trip great. I got to learn at a pace I was comfortable with and still enjoy the underwater sights.
