Would thoroughly recommend for transport options in and around the region. Friendly and accommodating service and availability to get me from Tūrangi to Whakapapa Village and back either side of my tramp on the Northern Circuit

I highly recommend using Backyard Tours, they were responsive, friendly, professional and super helpful. The booking system works well and everything just worked.
On the way to the crossing Brendon shared with us his insights and stories of the area which we really enjoyed.
I would definitely use them again.

From the get go, these guys excelled. Friendly, upfront and super easy to work with. Shuttle was on time, driver was great and did a Maori blessing before we took off. Highly recommend them!

Great company and people. Really enjoyed the Maori legends they told us about the area and the mountain and the beer at the end of the trek was the best!

Tidy and well maintained van, on time morning pick up, super friendly driver and more than helpful when one of our party rolled their ankle mid hike and ended up taking longer, our lovely driver came back tonget just us and met us on the track with some hiking poles for the injured party. Without hesitation recommend this shuttle company!

Gloria and her husband were absolutely delightful!
They gave us the history of the surrounding mountains during our drive, answered our many questions, and lead us through a Māori prayer before and after our hike! They met us at the end with a cold beer, what a treat! Very professional and passionate business, would 10/10 recommend!

Easy booking process with competitive pricing. Good to know that a portion of transport costs contributes to the maintenance of the Park for our enjoyment and future preservation.
Shuttle driver (Brendon) was punctual and his commentary of local knowledge and history was informative and interesting.
Return shuttle flexibility was appreciated as the walk did take some members of our group a little longer than we expected.
Cold drink upon our return went down rather well too.

How does it work at the end of the hike if you don't know exactly when people will be finishing? How do we find the shuttle back?

The shuttle is at the end at certain times, but if you take a lot longer than you thought, (and outside the shuttle's specified times) it will wait until you arrive out - you will never be left behind!
