Lovely place for a walk! Our dog loved it!

I spent a lovely sunny day at the Devil's Punchbowl. Very very disappointing indeed. If you want a feeling of space and lovely views definitely avoid this area. Our visit turned out to be 4 hours plodding through dark damp woodland or on paths surrounded by trees and bushes. We searched all the paths and views shown on the encouraging onsite leaflet, website and a National Trust book about the area. We had occasional glimpses of a few degrees. Even at the top of Gibbet Hill there was only a view of about 20 degrees with the only exception of 180 degrees at one point down on the Roam 635 trail.
It is so changed from my last visit several years ago when there were lots of lovely outlooks over the whole Punch Bowl site. At the office next to the car park I even asked for the assistants' advice to find the best views. They were very friendly but vague and just made the leaflet available without mentioning that it no longer accurately describes the area.
What a waste of a beautiful sunny day that could’ve been so much better appreciated elsewhere. And to make things more irritating we had a drive of nearly an hour getting there!

Scenic walk around the Punchbowl which is managed by the National Trust. Parking available along with a cafe and toilets. One of those reviews where pictures can tell a thousand words.

A very nice place to stop en route between Winchester and Brighton. The paths were well marked and we did get some great views. A nice tribute to people who died at sea. Parking was paid for but not expensive. we had to increase our time because the place was so good.

Visited cafe on 9th July 2022 and disappointed with quality of scones and cakes. We reported drinks in display cabinet were not chilled and was told staff were aware of problems with display unit. Even so, sandwiches still in the display cabinet even though it was a hot day.

Beautiful location with an amazing view and convenient parking. Carpark was badly signposted how to get in but its a very well maintained sport with some nice walking/biking trails. Millions of rabbits to spot aswell.

Owned by the National Trust, parking is free for members only.
Cafe onsite & pubs down the road.
Views for miles.
Very peaceful and quiet.
Wear sensible shoes as lot's of walking areas.
Be careful if you have mobility issues as ground can be uneven & steep in places.

Misty views, but atmospheric so still very much worth the trip, plus great lunch at the cafe. Menu was more limited than we remembered, maybe reduced for the pandemic and not yet fully returned - but the soup and bread was superb. Could have done with some gluten free bread to go with it for the coeliac in our party. Honey roast swede soup - a triumph.

Awful service, "what's a flat white coffee !" Really !! Ploughmans
bap tasteless and full of rocket, flap jacks dry! Expensive and disappointing!
Will walk to local cafe next time - thought it was empty, considering amount of cars in car park!! Have been a regular customer and NT member for many years, and won't go to on site restaurant again!

HI, I'm sorry no, there are no beaches anywhere near The Devil's Punchbowl. The nearest beach would be at Southsea (pebbles) or Hayling Island (several beaches, some sandy, some pebbly) or West Wittering - sandy. At the moment all beaches are closed for anything other than walking, due to Coronavirus.

Sorry about the delay but I was locked out of tripadvisor! Yes, across the road there is a kiosk and playground... huge area. Depends how old they are but there is a lovely area with a cafe etc.

Opposite the hotel/pub there is a National Trust Cade/restaurant with outside seating. Realise this is only appropriate if weather is fine but we did see people sitting outside with children and animals. Maybe give them a ring and check if they are still ok with animals.
