Really enjoyable evening!
2020年1月
Emi was really well organised, taking care to accommodate for the dietary needs (coeliac) of my partner and meeting us at the station. Once at her home she made us feel very comfortable, and talked us through the food we would be cooking. The preparation was fun and well-explained (with useful tips along the way) and the end products were delicious! We will definitely be making all of the dishes again, and will try and return to visit Emi again in the future. I would recommend the class to anyone who wants to get a more in depth experience of Japanese food and culture

Delicious sushi!
2019年11月
We were met at the station by Emi who led the walk back to her apartment in Nerima. She had all the ingredients ready to go, and she showed us how to stir the cooked rice, shape three different types of sushi, and cook tamagoyaki. We actually made tamagoyaki again the very next day, so this technique was especially useful! The fish we ate with the sushi was extremely fresh and delicious, some of the best we've eaten in Japan. The structure of the class was very casual, like chatting with a friend over food. Thank you, Emi, for a delicious and very filling lunch!

ねりま駅で、えみさんに会って、いっしょにえみさんのアパートに行きました。三つ寿司のかんじを作りました。そして、玉子焼きも作りました。えみさんはやさしい人です。おいしい昼ごはんはごちそうさまでした!

Thank you for your good review! This was the first or second time to eat sushi for you, I'm very happy you liked them. You made tamagoyaki very well so can make it anytime at home! Kappabashi is also a fun place, too. Thank you, again. Please enjoy your traveling!

Awesome, in-home experience

Great way to experience amazing, traditional food with an in-home experience. Emi is friendly, informative and very knowledgeable. Great way to experience a local feel of Tokyo outside of the city centre!

Thank you, M! Very interesting to know Australian kids study Japanese language. 10 years later, if they will work for a job which related with Japan and Australia, it must be emotional. Thank YOU for giving me a nice time. I'm happy that you liked the food. :D

Cooking at home with Emi was wonderful!
2019年9月 • カップル・夫婦
We spent the evening cooking real Japanese food at home with Emi, it was great to have home cooked Japanese food! Emi was fantastic! She met us at the train station and we walked to her home (less than 10 minutes through a peaceful Tokyo neighbourhood). Emi had lots of knowledge about cooking authentic recipes and her English is brilliant! As well as teaching us how to cook (and fold!) Gyoza, we learnt how to make Miso soup and a delicious sesame spinach side plate (goma-ae)! Emi was patient, friendly and taught us lots about Japanese ingredients. Thank you so much Emi for your time and for teaching us real Japanese food :D

Thank you for your good review! Oh, I enjoyed talking with you, too. But I don't like England because Eddie Jones is now your head coach. :-) 2 English guys introduced the Japanese curry restaurant in London on youtube. Please check with "two gaijin" and "coco curry". Coco curry is Japanese chain restaurants and now you have it in London. They said it's better than "Wagamama". Enjoy various food, fruit and sweets as much as possible. You can find them at a supermarket. Don't forget to go to Depa-chika (1st basement floor at a department store) Depa-chika is like a paradise. You will like it. And if you use Shinkansen (bullet train), try eki-ben. It's special bento boxes at each station. Eki is station and ben is short for bento. There are many eki-ben all over Japan. I don't say each station has an eki-ben but we have many in Japan. During being in a train, try them. We can't buy eki-ben at supermarkets and convenience stores. Enjoy World Cup and Japan!

Fantastic experience
2019年7月
My husband and I had a wonderful night experiencing real Japanese home cooking in Emi’s home. Emi’s train station is a bit out of central Tokyo but the efficient Japanese train system meant we travelled from Tennozu monorail (across town) to Nerima station in only 45 minutes. She picked us up at the train station and walked us to her home. It was fantastic to chat about her lifestyle and Japanese food. Emis English is very good. We helped her prepare some basic but lovely dishes followed by sake and a biscuit. This was a lovely experience and a must do for anyone wanting a real Japanese experience in Tokyo.

Thank you for coming! Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ginza are much more close. Me too, I enjoyed talking about various topics from serious to fun. I forgot to ask about myoga (Japanese herb), but you ate all food. It must be your answer. :-) Thank you, again

Extremely enjoyable cooking class
2019年7月 • ファミリー
My brother and I took a class in July 2019, and we both had a wonderful time!!
I usually have little to no interest in cooking, but Emi's passion for cooking is pretty contagious in the best of ways, making this class an amazing experience and one of the highlights in my stay in Tokyo.
Emi's explanations and instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and at the end of the class I had the satisfaction of eating sushi and soup I made myself - and which were both delicious.
Emi is a very nice person, making her cooking class more than just that and making the experience truly unforgettable. The atmosphere was very pleasant (we were 3 people taking the class: me, my brother and another person we didn't know before hand but got along well with), and the three hours went by quite fast.
It's a perfect balance between learning how to cook and spending time with a wonderful host.
Overall, I highly recommend Emi's Kitchen!

Great food with a lovely local
2019年5月 • 友達
My friend and I had a great time with Emi! We learned a lot about different flavours in Japanese cuisine and most importantly the food that we cooked was sooo delicious!

We are normally not great cooks, but Emi explained everything and made it very easy for us - I will definitely add this dish to my regulars and I bet my friends and family will be quite surprised ;) Plus, Emi is a lovely person and a Tokyo local, so it is great fun to talk to her.

We were very happy and we would recommend her course anytime!

Thank you, Emi!

Phenomenal cooking class with Emi
2019年5月 • カップル・夫婦
My wife and I took a cooking class with Emi in May 2019.

This was an amazing experience - she invited us to her home in Nerima and we had a quite personalized session. We learned how to make Gyozas, and appetizer and soup.

Emi was kind, knowledgeable and patient with us.

She also shared fascinating insights into Japanese culture.

Overall, very highly recommended activity for anyone visiting Tokyo.
