Kuni-san gave us the best food crawl we’ve experienced, by far, in our years of travel. My husband and I learned a lot about how best to enjoy those high quality, top grade, freshest Japanese delights in a fun & authentic japanese way. We definitely look forward to doing another food crawl with Kuni next time we’re in Osaka. Highly recommended!

Kuni is a nice person! From communication to the explaining all the details of food, plus he’ll provide you a bonus info on all the hole in the wall restaurants that only locals and eat plus a secret menu! Defintely worth it! Im coming back for more specially the japanese aligue!

It's a 3-hour restaurant hop with Kuni as your guide.
He'll ask you the 3 foods you want to try.
We told him: Wagyu, Sashimi, and other seafood.
We had our crawl earl on the 16th of November.
Upon seeing that we were a larger group, he gave the other members who weren't joining the crawl discount coupons and shopping tips.
Our first destination was a restaurant that serves Matsusaka beef. He gave a talk about the different beef in Japan. We were pleased that he was also the one cooking the steaks for us.
He wanted us to pace our tasting, to experience the meat bit by bit with different seasonings.
(apparently it's frowned upon in Japan to mix dips like we do in the Philippines).
On the way to our second restaurant, he was telling us some trivia about Namba ans where to go for drinks etc.
The second restaurant served us different types of Sashimi, some tempura, and Hokkaido Oysters which were the crown jewel of our visit there. He talked us through the different fish used in sashimi, the different parts of the tuna.
Our final restaurant we were served crab meat and innards served on crabshells, fresh crab shabu-shabu, uni, and to end it was sake boiled on the crabshells where the meat and innards were.
Other than he looked like he was under the weather, he was very accommodating. We would have never tried most of the food he introduced if it weren't for him.
He'll ask you the 3 foods you want to try.

Food was great but Kuni (guide) was very rude to us. Often “scolding” us when we wanted to try the food before he spoke. Makes us think he wanted us to make a mistake so he can insult us. He arrived late and did not apologize. We asked if it was cold outside and he replied “what do you think?” When we would ask questions as to where we were going next he would reply “no questions”. He often snorted and cleared his throat loudly, without covering his mouth/nose or excusing himself from the table. He presented himself as an arrogant person. From beginning to end he was acting rude. We wanted to end the tour early due to his behavior but the tour was paid for, so we just bit our tongue and said to ourselves to just get through this night. The food was superb but Kuni was definitely the most rude person we have ever met. Will not recommend him to our friends/family nor patronize the restaurants he manages.

Osaka Food Crawl W KUNI uni ile ne harika bir zaman geçirdik. İnanılmaz biftek restoranında başladık ve şimdiye kadar yaşadığınız en lezzetli eti pişirdik! Gece boyunca, varlığından bile haberimiz olmayan birçok farklı yemek denedik! En lezzetli tempura, muhteşem bir ızgara ve bazı gizli lezzetler. Kuni, Japon yemekleri ve yaşam tarzı

This is a great way to experience the amazing food that Osaka has to offer. Kuni is an amazing guy with a very extensive knowledge of food. We definitely recommend this experience for people visiting Osaka

We were recommended this tour by friends, and it was the highlight of our trip to Osaka. Kuni took us to 3 places (sukiyaki, tempura/sashimi, kushikatsu) plus treated us to some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had. He taught us a lot about different regional food and was just generally an amazing guy to hang out with! All the food was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be coming back to Osaka to eat with him again!

Lovely introduction to local foods! We walked through the market and were guided to specific stalls and then went to a nearby neighbourhood to try several small restaurants catering towards the food we were most interested in trying.
We tasted the really expensive grapes before discovering how much we love the Kyoho grape (Japanese purple grape). Then went for delicious butter grilled Hokkaido scallops. The best part was the special tuna sashimi and tempura at the next stop. There are many shops serving such but the one we went to was flawless. Best tempura we ever had and we love tasting tempura and Japanese food in many places. Kuni san has his special connections who got us the most amazing large oyster. After eating oysters recently up and down the American west coast we had tempered expectations from such a large oyster. The oyster has a luxurious texture and was sweet with a pleasant touch of sea. With so many choices and lots of things to learn about Japanese food, Kuni is a great resource in discovering new food in Osaka!

People! I swear ya’ll should go book for kuni san when you’re around Osaka! I swoon, food choices are immaculate and dang delicious! I can’t wait to be back for more!! Arigato gozaimasu kuni san!!! 🙏🏻

We were introduced to Kuni by a well-known chef and he came in highly recommended / must meet person in Osaka. So my friend and i only had the weekend and we decided to go for the food crawl and skipped most of the touristy activities.
We were asked to make a wish list of food that we want to eat and Kuni took great pains in putting together our itinerary. It is good to be specific about what you want to try and eat for the tour.
For our customized food crawl - we had matsusaka beef, fresh oysters (with a side of ebi tempura), uni (soooo fresh and creamy!!) and sushi (made by our own hands). We walked along narrow alleys, almost absent with tourists and i did feel like he was showing us some of the area’s best-kept foodie secrets. His well curated list of restaurant choices were excellent and we enjoyed his stories and trivia about the food that we were eating. We also stopped by his recommended local coffee shop where we ended up buying drip coffee to bring home.
Planning to come back to Osaka soon and hopefully set another food crawl tour with Kuni. He is the best!
