We LIVE on the island of St Lucia and have only been to Reduit Beach once, won't go again, agressive sunbed renters, persistant beach vendors, When we got back to our car 'something' had been thrown over it, probably by someone we had said no to.

Be careful in Reduit beach because there are gangs related to drugs particularly at certain venues. They befriend you and then will set up robbery if your hotel room, steal iPhone and jewelry. Sometimes they work at the hotel like Bay Gardens and will their gang friend
And your room is robbed. The police does nothing. Be careful. Don’t take any cab make sure it’s certified with a license number.

We arrived on a cruise and nearly always go to reduit beach for the day. Never again. Firstly obtained transfer minibus tickets at the new side of the cruise Dock. Expected to be dropped off at spinnakers car park in the centre of reduit beach. But no we were dropped off on the back road at one end off the beach. Had to cross a rocky field to gain access to the beach. Then a 500 yard to spinnakers where the best position for sunbeds. Obviously the minibus driver wanted us to return to this far end point for are return instead of the popular return point at spinnakers so to corner the market for himself. When we had walked all the way along the beach to the best point near spinnakers we had to run the gauntlet of the sunbed sellers who we know rip you off with various prices then ask for a tip before you even sit on the sunbeds. After a pleasant few hours on the beach we then had to try to obtain our return transfer from spinnakers car park but no minibus drivers would accept our tickets telling us we had to walk all the way back down the beach to the other point. But they would take our tickets and return us to the cruise ship for 6 dollars each. Double bubble? Love the beach and spinnakers bar but nearly all people we talked to felt ripped off. Back in st lucia in Feb 2024 but going on the catermaran trip to the pitons. Lovely beach but not worth the hassle.

This beach was a 5 minute walk from our resort. It's a nice beach with a few resorts and restaurants on it. There's a spot where you can do water sports, or take a water taxi over to pigeon island. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas.

The water is amazing. The crowds aren’t huge. Very relaxing and safe. I stayed near Reddit Beach and walked a lot! But I loved it.

today we witnessed a fatal accident that could have been avoided. unfortunately the disorganization in St Lucia with its tourists is evident. We went to Reduit Beach and it is nothing like what you are sold or led to believe. The beach is not crystal clear, nor is the sand white. jetskis run at ridiculous speeds between people swimming. there is no separation or security. while a small raft was dragged with a mother and daughter a jetski passed over them. while that mother was dying and was taken to the shore to try to be resuscitated by the same tourists. No ambulance or anyone from the island appeared to save her. The situation was handled horribly. But unfortunately since we arrived at the port it was like that. We didn't feel safe and came back early. It is necessary to take into account stoncomo linea when taking tourists to these islands. emergency services can make the difference between life and death in such a situation. Unfortunately, it did not run with this type of service

Popular beach especially if you are in port on cruise ship. Sunbeds & umbrellas for hire along with plenty of drink & food options. No public toilets on this beach so will need to use restaurant with rest room. We have been here a few times and always had a good day out.

We stayed in the Starfish hotel on this beach. There are several bars and restaurants like Spinnakers with plenty of Sunbeds and shades. However these can get crowded with Cruise ship shore trips. There's boat taxi's from here to Pigeon Island at about $15 US for the round trip. To the left the Starfish hotel end near Maries shack is quieter it's good to snorkel off the reef below Mt Pimard. You can climb Mt Pimard but it it is a difficult climb requiring good foot ware. There are some sunbeds to hire with shade.

Great sand and calm waters for swimming. Lots of natural shade. Stayed at Bay Gardens and so had free access to lounge chairs and water sports stuff as well as the water park (great for kids of all ages). A few folks selling rotis and rum-in-the-coconut but not pushy or excessive at all (maybe because we were in front of the hotel? but we had no issues and anyone can pull up and put a towel under a tree). The rum guy had the BEST drinks: five or six types of rum in a fresh coconut and served with a paper straw to save the environment!

1) Is the exchange rate in St Lucia better than buying the currency in the UK before travelling?
2) How much do they charge for the beds and umbrellas at Reduit Beach?

Yes the rate is better in St Lucia. Really easy to use debit card in cash machines at Rodney Bay. I can’t remember how much they charge for sun lounger etc. If you are staying in one of the hotels on the beach it is free.
Visit Wizard next to water sports guy near bay gardens beach resort.
We have been going to this beach every year for the last 10 years!

will be looking to spend an afternoon at reduit, renting chairs and umbrellas...……..can someone tell me 1) are we allowed to bring a small cooler with our own beers? 2) are there any restaurants on the beach that have easy take out so we can eat at our beach chairs? what are the offerings?

1) don’t see why not, it’s a public beach.
2) there’s a number of restaurants on the beach but would definitely recommend Liz’s Roti. Liz comes to the beach to sell her homemade rotis (beef, chicken or shrimp), fresh local juices and homemade cakes. All of which are absolutely delicious. And she’s cheaper than the restaurants.
Is Reduit Beach and activities open on Christmas day?? Arriving on a cruise and do not want to do a tour. Wondering about the cost of chairs and umbrella? thanks

I rented one umbrella and two chairs from a guy on the beach for $20. It was off season, though.

well ive been to 7 or 8 different caribean islands and i feel sorry for them i dont allways buy from them and i have never been abused for not buying anything,i end up having a chat,maybe its the way you shoo them away,it could be your attitude,you might want to be a bit more polite about it,just put your self in their shoes,i feel blessed that i can afford to go on holiday in the first place

The simple answer to this question is “No”!
Not for children! Teenagers? “Yes” Pulled by outboard motor boat. For children it’s “bring your own” available at shopping mall or shops nearby 🏝🏖
