My wife & I decided to not only visit the Rain Forest but also to zip-line through it! What a great experience. You can see the Rain Forest by a few ways, hiking through it, taking the cable car ride through and over it, and zip lining!
We chose to take the cable car and zip line through the forest, wow! Once we were 'kitted' with our harnesses, and after a little training etc, we were whisked off by cable car through the forest to the top, It is a slow ride giving you time to marvel at all the native species of trees and plants that make up the forest, and catch sight of a resident humming bird. All narrated by our very knowledgeable host and zip-line instructor.
Once at the top, we alighted the cable car and made our way down to the first zip-line point, but taking time to stop and view some of the magnificent trees etc around us, again narrated by our host.
There are eight zip-lines in total, some long and short, but all exciting. Safety is absolute paramount and the instructors will not accept anything less. Listen to what they tell you and you will have a great time. If you choose to hold your camera/phone or whatever to capture the moment, make sure it is connected to your wrist. If it drops, kiss it goodbye, you will not find it again!
Once we had done the last zip-line, which I believe was the longest one, we headed back up to the where the cable car peaks for a well earned rest and bottle of water.
The ride back down took us over the 'canopy' of the Rain Forest and the views were stunning. Again, a slow ride back so there was plenty of time to admire the scenery, the Forest and grab a few selfies! Once back at the bottom, you were given a 'complimentary' drink of your choice and guided to the souvenir shop where you can view your photo which was taken earlier at the training zip-line.
All-in-all, another good day out, well organised and very safe. Good footwear a must, i.e. no flipflops. Our trip was organised by Julian Boat Tours at Halcyon Bay.

I saw the cable car ride on the TV back home and knew it was something I wanted to do when visiting St Lucia. Pick up was great and on time from our hotel and transfer wasn’t actually too long, about half an hour. On arrival we were met by our guide JC a charming and funny young man who was very knowledgeable. The cable car ride is so peaceful and scenery from the top point is amazing so I’m glad I did this trip. You are later provided with a free drink before being put on the bus to return to your hotel. Nice way to spend a few hours and on a plus side the higher up you travel in the cable car the cooler it gets. A bonus as the weather was so humid during our stay.
Only things I didn’t enjoy, prior to getting on the cable car you are put into a group of 8 and need to line up so they can work out who should sit where in the car. This is to evenly distribute the weight. I understand this needs to be done but felt like being back at school being picked for the sports team. We were sat in the middle of the car (obviously to balance the car). The cable cars have a roof cover to keep you dry ish however the middle seats are directly under where the cable meets the car and there is a hole in the roof cover for this. By the time I got back down I had oil dripped on my white top from the hole.

We had the most amazing tour guide (Lacretia)! She took us on an amazing hike through the rain forest and we got to experience one of the most beautiful waterfalls! She was by far the best guide we had and had us engaged with history, facts, and ice breakers the entire trip! She was very knowledgeable! This was booked through Sandals La Toc and they made it extremely easy to navigate our entire trip!

Really enjoyed the trip and our guide Kenny made it really fun and interesting. Lived up to its name and rained, but better here than at the beach.

We did the aerial tram and really enjoyed it. The driver picked us up from our resort, he was very friendly and made the journey interesting, pointing out things along the way. When we got to the rainforest we found it very organised and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We were directed to use the restrooms which were nice and clean. Our guide Prince was brilliant. The team was very relaxing and a great way to see the detail of the forest, we saw so many different trees and plants plus some beautiful hummingbirds. The view from the top was magnificent.

We booked our zip lining adventure in the rainforest.
Our bus driver for the day collected us from our hotel (the Royalton) and was extremely friendly and full of knowledge giving us a great insight into the locals and surroundings.
On arrival we were talked though all the safety procedures and we were fitted up with our gear by the guides.
There were 12 zip lines in total where we were able to decend upto 850 feet through the beautiful rainforest.
There were beautiful sights and fantastic wildlife.
Each station had well experienced staff who were there to clip you in and put you at ease if you were having second thoughts.
I would definitely recommend this excursion for all ages.
My 9 and 12 year olds had an amazing experience and we were able to get some fantastic photos and footage.
The wildlife was amazing from lizards and land crabs to parrots and hummingbirds.
All the staff were wearing masks throughout the day and were using sanitiser.
We booked our trip through Nexus tours at the Royalton watersports centre.

You cannot go to the Caribbean and to a place like St. Lucia without experiencing the rain forest! Absolutely stunning. While you’re there... be sure to hug a tree. ❤️

A sky tram slowly gliding through the rainforest with a very knowledgeable guide. Great to get a different perspective up in the tree canopy.
The little walk through the small garden after was a nice touch.
The guided walk through the forest wasnt too strenuous or long but hot.

There were two of us on a tour run by SLBWA / stluciawildlife.com, the booking was initially arranged at a Birdfare in UK in 2019, where my friend met Vision who was to be our expert guide. Our day started at 05.30 where we ventured through an awakening Castries we made several stops o route to the forest, each time Vision picking out different species for a particular habitat. The road into the reserve was quite slow, this gave an opportunity for Vision to point out the different plants including coffee, cocoa, yams and how the banana crop is cultivated, Our stop was at the start of the Des Cartier Trail, we walked along a rising and meandering trail mainly on a stone path, (good foot ware needed), the trail extends much further but we spent a lot of time at a viewing point where saw many endemic species including parrot. We made our way back to continue to the south of the island to a large brackish lake for ducks and waders, then onto the southern most point at Moule a Chique where we saw Frigatebirds Tropic birds, in all we saw +40 species, my friend is an experience birder, Vision the expert guide, myself the novice hence the lack of detail, but our half day was from 05.30 - 14.30 and I learnt so much about the island, it’s people and wildlife, the day was both relaxed and jam packed, our guide calm and informative but not overloading us. I’d highly recommend seeking these guys out, you’ll be up early but then you will have the rest of the day, a unique experience.

How bad were the insects?
Did you get bit?
How big was the "cage" people ride in?

We travel fairly often to the Carribean and don’t get to bothered. Can’t be to much worse than DC. We usually either use those ‘bands’ you wear around your ankle/wrist or there is these ‘sticker’ type things you can get (both from Amazon) as we are not a lot for the sprays unless in really bad area. Just be aware of things like dusk, swampy areas and the such. Hope this helps. Enjoy your Vaca wherever you go as life is to short to worry about a few insects!

Is there a charge to hike/walk through the rain forest. Charge for guides, if needed. Thank you. Joan

I'll be traveling with 9 family members for my 80th birthday. Are reservations required for the tree-top tram and what is the cost? Any time of the day for special discounts? Also, it looks like there is a lot to do in St. Lucia. Would welcome all suggestions. Thank you.

We did this as part of an excursion booked through the Air Canada representative at our resort. The price was included in the excursion price.
