This was the single best thing we did in Saint Lucia. Our guide had been on the land for generations and his knowledge and insight into it was unparalleled. He gave us a fantastic look at what Saint Lucia’s nature has to offer and we sampled all sorts of fresh produce from his gigantic garden.
We cannot express how much fun we had and how much we recommend visiting the Grand Eden Estate!

I am a photographer, and went on the Grand Eden Estate tour to see if I would find some of the birds mentioned in the Reviews. To begin, I must say that Sylvanus, the guide, is definitely a nature enthusiast. Personally, I do not think he is a tour guide simply working to make a few bucks. One can see the passion and feel the joy he gets when he explains any aspect/subject relating to the natural environment around us.
Upon arrival, while getting off my truck, I saw a pair of the St. Lucia parrot flying. Unfortunately, I did not see any parrot again because, according to Sylvanus, they are vulnerable in flight when the broad-winged hawks are soaring/hovering over the forest.
Knowing I was there mainly to photograph birds, Sylvanus was very mindful and engaged throughout the tour. He was also quite alert, always on cue to readily point out a bird that's in the vicinity or in a tree. His constant smile and confidence inspired and assured me that I would not be disappointed - disappointed I was NOT!!
I saw the St. Lucia Black Finch, but it flew away before I could take the shot. I also saw the St. Lucia Oriole from the back, and so the shot was not acceptable. I have provided some of the birds I photographed at the Grand Eden Estate.
All in all, the tour was an unforgettable experience leaving me with a wealth of information about nature. Of course, I was offered fresh coconut water and mangoes.
Hoping to revisit soon this year.

We had a magical day with our new friend Sylvanus! He was the highlight of the tour for us - he gave us a window into the world of a native St. Lucian farmer and nature enthusiast! He inspired us in so many ways - his generosity, passion for birds, nature, farming and his culture, and his hard work to make the experience unforgettable for us! We hiked his beautiful property and saw incredible views, sampled so many local fruits and vegetables, had great conversation, learned about many native birds, fed bunnies, sampled local wines and rums and just had a fabulous time even though it was raining a majority of the time! Sylvo is a kind, genuine person and this tour is 1000x better time spent than crowded tourist spots if you’re looking to really connect with the real St. Lucia experience. It’s a privilege to get a real glimpse of what life is like for a local and Sylvo offers a rare opportunity for this. Don’t miss it! Tout bagay bon, Sylvo!

The Grand Eden tour was an amazing and unforgettable experience . This tour gives you an appreciation of nature in its pure and natural form . Tranquility was indeed my favorite spot as it overlooks the mountains and instantly provides a feeling of relaxation . If you are into bird watching you cannot miss this tour as the variety of birds is vast. You haven’t experienced the true beauty of St.Lucia if you haven’t visited Grand Eden . The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and friendly and went over and beyond to make us have a good time ! There is so much that can be said but I like this right here .

We loved this tour and was one of the highlights of our trip to St Lucia. Sylvanus showed us around his forest and farm. The tour is a mix of things- we went on a hike around the property where Sylvanus pointed out several plants and their medicinal purposes and we got to see some birds that are native to St Lucia. The property is beautiful and the view is really amazing. We had our children with us and he made an effort to make the tour entertaining for them as well. At the end, we got to try roasted cashews and fresh vegetables from the farm. Would highly recommend the tour!

Bookerty is the BEST! We booked this trip through sugar beach and wow are we glad we did.
We arrived and felt like family immediately - our tour was incredibly educational, and tasty! We samples coconut water straight from a coconut, guava, roasted cashews, and seasonal vegetables from the farm onsite.
We experienced incredible views, and a few jokes along the way from Bookerty! We laughed, we learned, and felt like a part of the community.
If anyone is traveling to St. Lucia this is a MUST do!
As some have said - yes the road there is bumpy but it was literally so worth it to have had one of the most incredible excursions we've had on a trip.

This was an awesome tour filled with great info about the forests of St. Lucia, sightings of lots of endemic birds (inc. parrots) and tasting of nuts, fruits, and vegetables from the farm. Our guide Sylvo was one of our favorites ever. Highly recommend!

Visiting Grand Eden Estate was one of the highlights and one of the best experiences of my trip. Sylvo was the best tour guide - informative, passionate about nature and very engaging. We were treated to fresh coconut water and jelly, fruit picked right off the trees, vegetables fresh from the gardens, cashew nuts freshly roasted and local wine. On our nature walk we sighted the St Lucian parrot over 13 times and also sighted hawks and other rare birds. The views were breathtaking. I was not really a nature lover before but this experience has given me new found interest and appreciation for nature - thanks to Sylvo!

Sylvo was an amazing tour guide! Everyone in our group (ages 7-73) had an wonderful time! He taught us about so many plants and animals, gave us samples of LOTS of the treasures from the rainforest to eat, and answered all of our questions. You can tell he cares a lot about Grand Eden Estate, and loves to share his immense knowledge! Definitely recommend!

HAS anyone taken a taxi from the cruise terminal to Grand Eden?
How much does the tour cost?

The tour really has no “cost”. But they do expect a tip afterwards. We gave $60 USD for his time. He said “payment is good” when we were leaving. I’m not sure if a taxi will drive up there because of how rough the roads are but if you ask I’m sure they would :) the roads are bad anyways so I’m sure it doesn’t make a difference to them. Worth a shot to ask!
