Do not do the tour through Chukka (orange polos). It's not a tour at all. The "park" is $3 to enter. There is no guide, map, or sign to tell you how to navigate the "park." Do not pay to enter this area
It's a complete waste of time and money. Take a picture of the lighthouse from the tram/bus and move on. Staff was rude, bothered when I asked what paid entry included.

Tickets to enter were not included on our tour, however you can see the lighthouse from the parking lot. The free roaming donkeys are a nice touch! Nice area with beautiful views.

We visited the Lighthouse the second week of April. It was lovely. It is a nominal fee to enter the area where the light house is. I wish you could climb it, but it was locked up tight the day we visited. There are beautiful grounds, gorgeous views of the ocean, and reasonably nice restrooms. There is a gazebo to sit in to relax and get out of the sun. There were two roaming dogs in the gazebo when we visited. There are refreshments available for purchase as well as wi-fi but it is expensive. My son ordered a non-alcoholic pina-colada slushie and he was charged $15 for a small 6-8 ounce cup. Another guest ordered beers while there and they were cheaper than his slushie. Also, the sign says you get wi-fi if you purchase from there, but my son was later informed he must spend $25 in order to be granted the wi-fi password.
Worth the visit in my opinion, but I wouldn't eat or drink there.

It is a light house with some opportunities for some great pictures and that is it. Got here as part of an excursion to see the village and museum of Grand Turk, I would not pay to drive out to just go to the lighthouse.

This is a beautiful spot on Grand Turk.
To write that we were not warmly welcomed by the man and woman behind the enclosure surrounding the lighthouse would be understatement. A donkey roaming the vicinity pooped next to our bikes. This was a friendlier gesture than what we received from the lighthouse staff.

Stop by with water and banana's the donkeys love your friendly faces and hospitality!
Take a break with a picnic basket and enjoy the view..
Not sure what day it's open.. but it's worth a drive ..stop by the college on your way. Loads of history!

Incredible views, very different from anywhere else on the island. Worth a quick trip up there to gawk if you have your own transportation or if staying on the island.

We stayed on the Island 2 weeks and it was great sight seeing ...No one there when no cruise ships visiting Island. We took a golf cart. nice to walk around and read the history signs and the view was very different from others parts of the Island.

This light house tour is well worth the time it takes and very informative. The grounds are well maintained along with the facilities, its obvious someone is taking their job seriously and taking care of the surrounding area as well as the buildings.

Rented a golf cart for the day, picked up outside of the cruise ship terminal. Went to lighthouse first as on far end of island, then would work our way back to see other sites. Entry only $3, and can use entrance fee for $1 off drink at bar. Nice views of the north end the island, and reading about the history of the lighthouse around the grounds. Nice to have a drink and enjoy the view. Very friendly staff. Also, lots of donkeys around the parking lot. Can feed them, or get your picture with them. Very docile. Recommend for those wanting to explore the island, or to visit initially and go to one of the beaches.

I dont think you can go inside the lighthouse. At least we did not see any opportunity to when we were there in January.

About renting golf carts in Grand Turk. We are heading there in February and wanted to ask you how to get a hold of Omar from grand Turk adventures. Also- how was it getting around with a golf cart? I was thinking of stopping at Governour Beach and Pillory Beach and Lighthouse. We are in port from 12-6

Hi! We were there in October. Our friends rented a golf cart and we rented a jeep. They regretted not getting the jeep too
We only spent $10 more than they did and enjoyed it much more. The golf carts are not well maintained and are very, very slow. We passed several people in golf carts that were broken down. The jeep was a newer model. Something you may want to consider is that with the jeep you can lock up your personal belongings when you stop at the beaches or other destinations. We were concerned about the traffic and driving on the opposite side of the road but unlike other carribean islands, there is very little traffic and there is no way to get lost. We were also able to visit places that are accessible only by 4wd. There is not much to do in Grand Turk. We tried snorkeling from shore near the Bohio Resort at Pillory Beach but the visibility that day was only about 2ft. If we ever go back we will definitely book a snorkeling excursion instead so we really appreciate the beautiful water! Good luck!

We are planning on renting a scooter or golf cart and tour the island and visit the lighthouse. Do you know how much the zipline is, if you don't book through a cruise ship?

Rent the golf cart, you can see the island in a day.
You can not even see the inside of the lighthouse.
The donkeys at that end of the island a cool.
As a couple people have said the zip line is nothing more than telephone pole to telephone pole, I would feel like I got ripped off if I was counting on a zip line experience.....

I only saw golf cart rentals at the port for around $35.00. I do not know if that was only half a day.

No, it is not walkable. You can rent a car on the island and pick it up just outside the ship terminal gates, or hire a driver. We rented golf carts. Car rental is less expensive.

Hello, I was hoping to check out the lighthouse in April. Maybe the lighthouse doesn't look as good as it used to, but is the view still good?
Since we have not been to Grand Turk and we do no snorkling, what would you advise that we see/do, that wouldn't be to expensive?
