What a beach. Photos cannot do this beach justice. We hiked along the Lind Point trail. In November this was very overgrown and not really suitable to a hike in sandals. Sturdy shoes and cover up are the order of the day. It took 45 minutes from the visitor center. but the reward when you get to the beach, oh my! It was amazing. the beach is powder, there is few rocks around. Plenty of palm trees to give you shade from the sun. The water is crystal clear and so warm. The only drawback is, at the time we went, there was a strong riptide that could knock you off your feet if not careful and the part we were in had a steep ledge about 5 feet into the water, that dropped a good 2 feet, but leveled out after that

Lovely spot. Water was very clear. Was not overly crowded on the afternoon of our visit. The chair guy was a pain insisting on taking our chairs at 4:30pm. Bathrooms associated with the bar, Dinghy's were a mess.

Was nice. Got crowded quick with frequent drop offs by local tours. Smaller than expected. Still a nice experience. Food was ok but service was slow.

The sand was the most pleasant on the feet! Water was rough when we went, making the water too murkey/sandy for snorkeling. Beach isn't large so it feels crowded.. Drinks on site. Cost $8pp for us to taxi there from the ferry. Then when you arrive, it's $6pp one way for a mandatory shuttle to get to the beach. We chose to take the walking path back into town. Quite a small hike with views and wildlife- prob 20 minutes but free!

Took the ferry over to Water Island and spent a few hours at this gem of a beach while on a cruise stop in St Thomas. Soft sand, crystal clear and calm water. Snorkeling was decent as well. Saw a couple of sea turtles and fish. People said they saw a ray but I personally did not. The turtles in their natural environment were very cool to witness. There were a few people here and as the day went on, more came but it did not feel crowded at all for us. There is a beach bar called Dinghy's that you can get drinks/food from. I bought one Bushwacker and it seemed light on the alcohol for $12! We rented a golf cart from Rachael's Rentals as reading she was cheaper than Dingy's. There really is not much on the island to view except some pretty costal views. There is an old WW2 fort up high but we didn't even go up there because the road was so bad. Honeymoon Beach was much to our liking!

We took the people ferry from behind Tickles bar on St. Thomas to Water Island (about 15 minute ride and at time of our visit $30 round-trip). We walked around Water Island seeing the sites and finished at Honeymoon Beach. It was overcrowded with Cruise ship people on the beach and lots of boats anchored outside the swim bouys. We really didn't feel it was any prettier than Lindquist Beach on St. Thomas or Maho Beach on St. John. This would not make our list to come back to on our next trip. If your healthy enough and have no limitations Water Island is walkable. But if you have limitations or want to see the entire island quickly then I highly recommend you make a reservation to have a golf cart at your use.

We paddleboarded into Honeymoon Beach, the sand is wonderful and the water incredible. Lots of fish here too. Very relaxing.

Water Island is a $7.50 water shuttle from the Charlotte Amalie harbor side. The land shuttle meets you at the dock and takes you to the beach FOR FREE. The island is ordinary, but the beach scene is fun. Check in with Alex for umbrellas, lounges, noodles, and golf carts. Classic bar and grill. The beach is small but nice with its fair share of tall palm trees. Just lay back and relax.

Is there still transportation to Honeymoon Beach once you get off the water taxi?
Or do you have to walk or rent a golf cart?
We love it there but are 72 and 74 yrs old and not sure we can come if we have to walk
to the beach from water taxi.

You can walk just over a small hill less than .25 miles to Rachel’s cart rental. Or you can ride the beach shuttle which runs daily many times.
My fiancé and I are thinking of heading out to honeymoon beach for the day. We want to rent chairs and an umbrella abs maybe a keep for the day. Can anyone help me with the prices for all these things?

I think it was about 10-15 dollars for the day. We rented two at Dingys but spent most of our time enjoying the water

Interested in Honeymoon Beach, but photos show a lot of motorboats. Is this a quiet relaxing beach, or one with a lot of noise / exhaust pollution? Thank you in advance for your reply!

I didn't notice any noise/exhaust pollution when we were there in Oct. The sailboats are moored and quiet. A couple of speed boats came in near the restaurant but they come in slow with no wake/idle speed. If you're concerned about that just stay towards the right side of the beach.
I was thinking about purchasing the "Honeymoon Beach All Day Pass." Has anyone does this? What was your experience? Was the area crowded or more secluded? I know there is food/drinks onsite; will they bring drinks to you? For $49 per person, I just want to know what the environment is like. Any input is appreciated!

I didn’t think it was worth it but we did enjoy the kayaks. Mayonnaise a day when it isn’t so crowded you could enjoy more. They had 2 servers bringing drinks out but with so many people, they never got to us we had to go get our own.

They were renting alot of water equipment, depends on who is there. Not the best place to snorkel.

We are going to be in St. Thomas and were thinking of taking our 11 year old and 14 year old to this WATER ISLAND @ Honeymoon Beach. What do you think? What is the best way to get from Disney Fantasy down to the beach?

So there is a ferry that runs from Crown Bay marina to water island. They have a shuttle that then takes you the short distance to honeymoon. There is a beach bar to the left that has free chairs and umbrellas.
The ferry at Crown Bay is right outside of a bar called Tickles Dockside Pub.

We are coming in on symphony of the seas in May. We want to make sure we don’t miss out on chairs and umbrellas. What time should we be there by? Do we take the Ferry over from the ship? Where is Dinghys located ?

IF you are getting off a cruise ship, you will need to take a taxi to the "Tickles" restaurant at Crown Bay. The ferry stop is in front of the restaurant (10 feet) door. Ferry takes 15 minutes, then a open air bus ride to the beach, 5-10 minutes depending on the wait. You should be able to find chairs relatively easy, or bring a towel and sit on the clean beach. Just make sure to leave enough time to get back to the Ship, as the traffic into town can be a nightmare after 3 PM.
