This wonderful limestone tower is an impressive feature along the coast in Ao Nang. It stands at the far end of the cliffs between Pai Plong and Minao's Beaches.
We saw this tower every time we were by the beachfront in Ao Nang. It was also visible from the rooftop bar in our hotel.
It is a popular rock climbing site, with various climbing routes and is only accessible by boat or kayak.
It stands roughly 35 metres (almost 115feet) high and is a prominent feature of the landscape
The closest we got to the Tower was when we sailed past in a long-tailed boat travelling to and from Railay Beach.
We also walked to the end Pai Plong floating pier, which jutted out into the sea in the direction of the Tower, another photo opportunity. We also caught sight of the tower as we walked across the headland on the Monkey Trail
No matter how many times we looked at the Tower we could see different images or shapes. This was due to the sun shining on the colourful rocks, or the shaded areas and the shape and sizes of the stone forged by nature's elements over time.
Sailing by we were convinced we saw an ogre's face with teeth protruding from it's mouth. Other visitors will see a multitude of other images.
