We used Mondo Guide/Rick Steve’s private tour to see Blue Grotto & Capri. They were beyond excellent. The boat was very well equipped & the two crew members were extremely experienced. Very pleasant experience. There were 7 of us on board, my party of 3 & another party of 4

My daughter and I had a wonderful tour of Capri with Mondo Guides. We were picked up at our hotel and departed Sorrento with 10 other guests from the beautiful Marina Grande (and brought back there after the tour). Our two guides were courteous, knowledgeable about Capri and its history, and made us all feel like welcomed guests. We were provided with beer, wine, fruit, Prosecco, and Caprese sandwiches on the boat (so we did not have to spend our precious time on Capri finding food!) Our first stop on Capri was Anacapri where we loved taking the chairlift to the top of the island. The views were incredible! Although it was nice to see the island, my favorite part of the day was the many opportunities we had to swim from the boat (make sure you remember to wear your swimsuit)! Swimming in that gorgeous turquoise blue was heavenly, and we swam into the Blue Grotto at the end of the day (thus avoiding a wait earlier in the day to see it in a rowboat). The boat even had a freshwater shower for us after swimming. I highly recommend this tour!

Mondo tours knows how to run a great trip! Agostino and Andrea were informative and friendly. We learned a lot about the history of Capri and had just enough time on the island to explore the towns of Anacapri and Capri. Towards the end of the day, we went swimming off the boat at the Blue Grotto, which was fantastic.

We're so grateful Vincenzo warned us the original day we scheduled to visit Capri would be too windy. With his help, we adjusted our itinerary of train trips and dinner reservations. We visited Capri 2 days later when weather/winds were better. Although we did not get to visit the famous Blue Grotto due to winds, we are thankful we got to see and hear about everything else on the gorgeous island! Malfalda was our fabulous guide... we requested after meeting her on our tour of Amalfi Coast. She is AMAZING
Mondo Guide did everything to ensure we had a great time. We're so happy they took the time and effort to adjust schedules allowing us for the best tour possible. Recommend using them to everyone I speak with. Thank you Vincenzo!!

Mondo tours was great - we disembarked from the Grande Marina in Sorrento at 8:00am and we were the second boat to be let into the Blue Grotto after transferring onto the small rowboats (after having our vaccination status checked). The water was quite smooth and clear. It was great to be there so early. Then we went onto the island of Capri, which was just mobbed by tourists. After some exploring, we found a bar and had drinks with other fellow travelers beachside. Then it was time for swimming off the boat. The water was comfortable and refreshing. Our Captain, Andrea was friendly and informative. Rick Steves sure knows his stuff.

Patty was an incredible guide! She was very knowledgable about Capri and the surrounding area. She told great stories and kept our family very engaged throughout the day. She went above and beyond to rearrange things through the day in order for us to be able to experience the Blue Grotto based on the changing weather conditions. I can't imagine a better way to navigate Capri - we would never have been able to see and experience everything we did if we had tried to do it on our own. Highly recommend Mondo for any and all Italy tours!

The Capri tour was fantastic!
The trip over was a blast, flying across the waves on a beautiful speedboat. We got there in no time.
Once there, we were treated to the Blue Grotto (extra fee, but oh, so worth it!), as well as poking into a couple of other grottos
Only 14 or so on the boat, so a small, lively group. Food and beverages provided.
We literally circled the entire island before pulling into Capri harbor for our trip up to Anacapri by taxi for the fantastic chairlift and other sights.
All along, from harbor to island, we were in the care of Attilio, our on board host.
Attilio is an amazing guide, whose enthusiasm, knowledge and warm personality elevated a wonderful tour into an unforgettable one.
Honestly, we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit to Capri, but most especially the warmth and hospitality of Attilio and our captain.
We were in Italy for three weeks, and this was definitely one of the absolute highlights of our touring!

Mondo Tour Group are the Best in Southern Italy!!
We are a family of four traveling with our college age sons. Mondo Tours will give you the best experiences all the way around. We used them for 2 tours and then at the last minute used them to drive us from Sorrento to Positano.
Our first experience was a tour of Pompeii which we took on our drive from Rome to Sorrento. Our driver picked us up at our hotel in Rome and was very safe and friendly. He navigated us on the crazy streets of Rome and then on the highway through Pompeii and on to Sorrento . He can drive us anytime!! In Pompeii we had Lavina as our Pompeii guide. As a mom of 2 sons her self she was engaging of our sons and my husband and myself . She was very knowledgeable and knew the ins and outs to ensure we saw the best of Pompeii despite the huge crowds.
Our 2nd experience was the red carpet full day excursion from Sorrento to Capri. What an amazing day on the boat with our most hospitable and fun loving captains Francesco and Sylvestre. They took perfect care of their 12 guests from the start to finish with easy and early access to the Blue Grotto, Hearty homemade caprese sandwiches with the freshest tomatoes on crusty bread, water, Prosecco, swim time in the Gulf of Naples, the White Grotto and so much more!!. Our fellow mates on the boat were great people and we all enjoyed each other’s company. The tour also included 4 hours of unguided time on Capri. All in all it was an amazing red carpet tour!!
Last minute we needed a driver from Sorrento to Positano because we were originally told a taxi would be cost effective and only 30-40 minutes. The timing was right but the price was exorbitant so we called Mondo Tours and they sent a Mercedes Van to pick us up... same day service and a fraction of the taxi cost....Now that is service. Our driver Micheal was a great driver, polite and even gave a little commentary on the sites and asked if we would like to stop and take a family picture as we approached beautiful Positano at a very picture worthy spot.
All in all Mondo Tours are an exceptional top notch group to experience Southern Italy with!!

I wasn't sure what to expect when we booked with Mondo Guide. We decided to opt out of the ship excursions to go with Mondo and I was a bit nervous. It ended up being the absolute best part of our trip. I knew shortly in I had nothing to worry about, as they are extremely professional and understand the importance of getting back to the ship on time. I only wish I had booked EVERY excursion with Mondo instead of just two. Serena was the most amazing guide ever, she was prompt, courteous, advocated for us, gave us unique tips on where to eat, what to buy and she was a pleasure to be around. We adored her. The private boat was 100% the way to go. We got to get off the hustle and bustle of crowds and truly enjoy our time. I would book again and again with Mondo. And if you are lucky enough to get Serena, you are going to have an amazing time!

Found out about this semi private tour in our Rick Steve’s Italy book and this tour is totally worth it! Great guides, lots of free time on the island and they told us so many options of what we could do. Then when we met back up we were taken completely around the island before heading back to Sorrento. I’d recommend this to everyone!!

Hi! I just read the reviews of Mondo Guide shared tours as recommended by Rick Steves.. We are group of 6 adults who will be visiting Sorrento in Late October. I'm seeing 2 different Mondo tours with a big price difference. Can anyone tell me what they paid for the small group of 12 Mondo Guide tour? Also would love to hear from those that have been there on the best way to get t to Anacapri for the chair lift once on the island. We would like to spend some time there and end in Capri town before returning to theboat. Any advice is very welcome. Not sure we will want to swim. Still better than taking the ferry and then renting a boat tour on the island?

My wife and I really enjoyed the shared Capri boat tour. We paid 90 Euros each. We went in early October and did swim, the Mediterranean was 75 degrees. Once on Capri, we took the public bus to the chair lift, very cheap and very easy in the off season.
The shared boat does include a tour around Capri to see the Blue, White and Green Grottoes. This also included a light lunch to bring on Capri and drinks on the boat.

It was 80 Euro in cash per person. On my trip, they picked up a couple in Positano. Don't know if they'd go to Naples.
