Due to ongoing COVID 19 i had to call and cancel our excursion. I was dealt with very politely and had a friendly chat with the rep who sorted everything out with no hassle and would not hesitate to use this company again. Treated very well by this company and would highly recommend. Note had to click on when i visited to submit the review sorry

My wife and I boarded the cruise ship Celebrity Concellation on Oct 1st 2019 to have what we expected to be a relaxing holiday.
From the moment we sailed were constantly asked by various crew members to "upgrade" to drinks packages,to fine dining restaurants and shore excursions.
The reason for the restaurant upgrades was because the ocean cafe never served hot food,or if it looked hot the plates that were offered were stone cold.
The drinks on board were very expensive ie a so called large beer was $7.50 with a 20% surcharge making it $9.00 plus given that each pasanger paying a $14.50 gratuities charge made a very expensive beer.
The any time dining room 7.30 to 10.30 was a pain having to wait for up to 20 minutes for a table,we only found out on the last night that we could have booked but no information was given beforehand.
If you didn't want to go on an over priced shore excursion you had to ask at the passenger information desk for transport alternative transport information that could have easily been added inside the daily info paper.
For an example ship shuttle bus $15 same trip on local bus €1.50 each way.
On the plus the inside stateroom was of a high standard and all the crew were very nice and helpful and the ship was very clean
Would we go with Celebrity again? NO

Did the Mediterranean cruise on Norweigan Pearl, lovely ship, comfortable cabin, quite roomy and adequate, although an inside cabin! Dined most nights at the Indigo restaurant , and the food was excellent with various choices! The Garden Cafe is a buffet arrangement, good assortment and variety but felt the buffet was not as good as on the Princess ships! The entertainment was rather dull and repetitive, we only went to two shows as there was not much variety, and only one show each night, whereas on Princess there was always two to choose from! The ship was very clean and well maintained!

As part of a 7 day cruise of the western med, we booked Rome the complete tour with cruisingexcursions.com. The price was significantly less than our ship prices and our experience was magnificent! Suzie, our tour guide was so knowledgable and gave us a great walking tour taking in the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, St Peter's Square including a visit to the Basilica. We had such a wonderful day in Rome, and thanks to Suzie's expertise we learned so much and avoided being burned in the 35 degree heat as she managed to find shade throughout the tour. We were also grateful for the great advice and tips on where to eat for lunch just off Piazza Navona. We had a lovely lunch at a restaurant called Cybo which set us up nicely for our final part of the tour in the Vatican. We would definitely use cruisingexcursions.com again. Thanks for the memories!

Review of Celebrity Reflection 11 days Ft. Lauderdale Fl. to Caribbean .
GOOD
You need to do this cruise in the Suite class if you can. The Luminae restaurant is the highlight of the ship . This is a suites only venue . The food and the service here was great.
The Murano a specialty restaurant you pay $50 dollars extra for was very good . The Tuscan grill specialty restaurant $45 dollars was NOT very good . The food was over cooked and poor quality.
BAD
The excursions were NOT very good . In some areas you actually felt threatened with street people coming up to you .. In your face from the moment you dock in Cartagena . They were relentless . Even coming up to your boat as you were leaving trying to sell you something . In Panama our original trip was canceled (to go through the canal ) . It was stated as easy (activity level ). They put us on a strenuous level trip.
Then provided us with a guide who was handicapped. Out excursion was to be 7 hours it went to 8 1/2 hours and we were given nothing to eat. And were told during the excursion . To get something to eat on your own . But many people were unable to get anything to eat as there was not enough time given. The restaurants were very slow on the town tour . Sitting for over 1/2 hour for any service at all. So you had to leave .
YOU CANNOT HEAR the guide during any of the tours period !!! If you are more than 10 to 15 feet away. Some of the tours had over 35 people .On Viking tours the guide and every person/passenger on the entire ship has an audio box in their stateroom. You can hear every word that the tour guide has to say. On the Celebrity excursion we were in a church and our guide was talking very loud in order for us to hear her. It was actually disrupting the people praying . NOT GOOD !!!
UGLY
Way Way too many people on the boat . NOT counting the crew about 3000 people . Every where you went there was TOO many people . 6 people in each hot tub every seat taken around the decks . People getting up at 7 am putting their chairs & towels out & around to save their sunning place 50 people in a small pool. 10 people in line to get ice cream .
We had come off an excursion around 1 pm and wanted to go try the buffet (FOOD COURT ) . The food court must hold about 1000 people . We could NOT find a seat . We walked around every inch of the entire restaurant /food court to have lunch.
We ended up eating in the Luminae which was fine .
Every where you go on the first part of the cruise people are trying to sell you SPECIALTY dinners 3 for 129 dollars . It is very , very annoying . Then you cannot have a dinner with out some one taking your picture . And the same on many other places on the ship people asking you to have pictures taken.
Then you find out that they are trying to sell a $250.00 dollars picture taking package up where the photos are displayed .
Summary
People on the Celebrity are working really hard to serve you.
My biggest complaint was the Excursions (not good) and NOT being able to HEAR the tour leader. Celebrity needs to invest in a individual voice box system like Viking has . You can hear every word.

Mysterious Algeria was clearly on the distant horizon as we sailed across the Mediterranean from Sardinia. With police escorts and sirens we toured this ancient city and it’s Casbah. Certainly not on the “beaten path”, Algiers is well worth the effort to visit. Especially if you are on a first class ship like the Viking Sky. The people and the place combined to create the mystery of North Africa, Algeria and Old Algiers! It is a real treat!

My first cruise. Loved the atmosphere & entertainment on board. Food was great with much choice. Entertainment staff thoroughly enjoyable. French classical pianist was also excellent.
All staff polite and courteous.
Cabin was brilliant with bath towels changed twice a day !
Although many Italians on board, one could thoroughly enjoy the trip.
Loved the many visits possible due to visiting around the Med.
Had birthday celebration whilst on board, staff prepared a beautiful engraved cake.
Planning my next trip already.

The ship is absolutely beautiful. The staff goes out of their way to make your trip as pleasant as possible. The food and service is top notch. We reserved each night for dinner without using the specialty extra pay dining and the food and service was unbelievable. The menu changed every single day with lots to choose from. Since we did an excursion at every port we did buffet for breakfast which offers a huge variety and range of food,and very tasty! The excursions were very informative with leaders who were very educated in the history of the places we visited. The pool is a bit cold but we had 36 degree weather so we went in anyway. The hot tubs were nice. The nighttime shows were amazing and something that you would likely see in Vegas. The performers were outstanding, and each night that we went we were amazed at how entertaining every show was.
There are lots of entertainers throughout the ship as well who sing and play tunes. There are lots of bars to choose from, and we paid extra for a drink package which I think was worth it. The excursions cost extra and are by no means cheap, but if you are into culture and history again as I mentioned before, the leaders were extremely knowledgable. Shopping in several ports was interesting, but it certainly is not cheap. The items were neat though, and the shops are interesting to walk through...most were high end shops.
Our room had a balcony and we loved that as we had coffee overlooking the sea sitting on our deck every morning.
The sea is an incredible Hugh of blue and green.
Our ten day cruise was packed full of excursions, and sea days were fun.

This cruise ship was fabulous -- STATE ROOMS (Cabins) - maintained dailky, immaculately; cabin stewards were polite, friendly, helpful, very well trained and clearly very hard working. We were very impressed with the dedicated and helpful staff, the cleanliness of the ship and the clearly smooth running of everything.
SUNBEDS: One irritation was the selfish habit of passengers reserving the sunbeds around the pools, fine if guests are USING the beds, but in many cases guests ‘reserved’ beds with personal possessions, then vanished for hours - extremely irritating for other passengers unable to use the empty but ‘reserved’ sun beds. We were regularly unable to locate sun beds due to this habit and it should definitely be more strictly monitored - On the top deck, the same problem occurs - wanting to watch a movie on the big screen, passengers sunbathing behind the screens at the rear of the ship used up the spare moveable chairs to put their feet up on (two chairs per passenger). A few times we had to abandon that area due to lack of available seating. This habit is acceptable when that area is not busy.
FOOD: at the main, SEASIDE CAFE for breakfast and lunch was outstanding, as was our dinner experiences in the San Marco restaurant. 10/10 to the brilliant culinary team in the galley who worked so hard to keep us all fed 24/7. And the on the ball waiting staff who were friendly and efficient. Can anyone ever complain about the food? - surely not - there is an abundance of choices and something for everyone's taste all tastefully and carefully presented and well prepared.
DAY EXCURSIONS: The Pompeii excursion booked with the ship, was 10/10 - we had a fabulous lady guide who was entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. We did not get off the ship to visit Santorini as we had been advised against it, talking to other passengers who did the trip and rated it negatively – a lot of passengers later reported how distressed they were to see the poor donkeys struggling every day up the steep mountain cliffs, some clearly in distress (apparently this is an internationally recognised concern on Santorini as many cruise ship passengers mention it) As animal lovers this we would have found very upsetting. We will certainly be cruising again on the Celebrity Constellation. Thank you to everyone on the ship who due to their hard work and care, made our holiday so enjoyable.
ROME: best way to see everything is the DIY Hop-On / Hop-Off buses. We did book a See Rome by Night excursion including a 3 course dinner (poor quality) and the walk around with a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide was excellent.
(NOTE OF WARNING: I was pickpocketed outside Pompeii entrance whilst buying smoothies from a stall. I was jostled, and a money clip buried deep inside my handbag was expertly extracted !

We booked the trip online before we left home and met our guide at the port. The guide spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable. He gave us a map of the city centre and lots of tips on places to visit and the best way to get around. Tour was timed to fit with ship schedule and we were back in plenty of time.

We are going with Thompson cruises aboard the Majesty on the treasures of the med in October, can anyone recommend which excursions to book and also what is the weather like in October.

If you stop near Florence a winery cruise in Tuscany is a great idea. Near Marseilles a day trip to Aix in Provence is a good trip. By far, my favorite was Pompeii from Naples. We had a self tour and but found a private guide who had a fixed group price up to 10 people. We teamed up our 3 with another couple and a family we met in line for 4 more. Made it really inexpensive. Don't forget there are other tourists probably from even near your home. The family met was not only from the same town--but their daughter played hockey at the same ice rink where we go.

I am interested in a river cruise from Barcelona to Rome/ Western Mediterranean. Can anyone who took this cruise let me know what you liked. This will be our first cruise and we are only interested in the river cruises. Is the cost of airfare included? Do all the rooms have a balcony view?.
