Small, but wonderful lake located below the majestic Traunstein mountain surrounded by quiet nature. Accessible from Gmunden or from Gruenberg by short hike. It's worth to go there and enjoy the place.

It is the epitome of Austrian hospitality and good cuisine. The location is enchanting and anyone who wants can refresh themselves in the lake.

The advertised, stroller-friendly path (1 hour) from the Grünberg cable car mountain station to Laudachsee is definitely NOT a walk, but a hiking trail!!
The circular hiking trail around Laudachsee is adventurous in places.
You can tell the ground is moorland. Sturdy shoes are a must.

Très bel endroit avec un très beau lac et un agréable restaurant ; très belle vue et une très belle balade depuis Gmunden à environ 2h30 de marche.

Von der Bergstation auf dem Grünberg läßt es sich in wenigen Stunden super zum Laudachsee wandern. Der liegt sehr schön, umgeben von Wald und Gipfeln. Zum Schwimmen eher kalt. Die dort befindliche Hütte wird bewirtschaftet und hat einen schönen Biergarten. Die Wanderung kann man auch gut mit Kindern machen.

Die Umrundung des Sees ist es allemal wert, auch wenn man schon beim Weg zum See einige km hinter sich brachte. Die Natur ist super intakt, die umgebenden Berge ergeben eine fantastische Spiegelung.

Die Gastronomie vor Ort eher unfreundlich und nicht um Gäste bemüht. See sehr nett; die Umwanderung etwas mühsam, da sehr schlammig (hatte an den Tagen zuvor viel geregnet).

From Gmunden it's an easy 10 min ride on the recently renovated Grünberg-Seilbahn to get to Grünberg. There you have a restaurant, a summer rodelbahn, the Baumwipfelpfad and the start of multiple walks. We had a 4-year old child with us, so we were looking for something more than the 1.4 km Baumwipfelpfad walk but also not too challenging. The 4km / 1h walk to Laudachsee was perfect. This is a nice forest walk, with some spectacular views over the Traunsee. Although the walk goes up and down, it's never too challenging. As reward, you can enjoy the view over Laudachsee and the surrounding mountains, with a beer and some local food at Ramsaualm. You can also walk around the lake, but we just went down to touch the water and then went back (which is the same route).

We were just after Covid-19 lockdown, so no idea if this place is "normally" more crowded, but for us it was quiet and clean, with a nice bar/restaurant in the neighborhood.
