Been to a handful of plays in my life and was a little sceptical as to how they would portray magic ina theatre but some amazing effects and a great story

I’m not into the theatre but I really enjoyed this experience.
The story was compelling, the players were very entertaining and I was drawn into the story.

BEST SHOW EVER!! This was beyond amazing the staging the cast and crew. It was a feast for the yes and the 3 hours just flew by. It was the impressive show I have ever seen in terms of effects. The cast came together like a well oiled machine and it was incredibly funny too.

Don't go...Dialogue pedantic..difficult to hear at times...excruciatingly predictable...some good special effects...but not enough..needed extreme editing..seats v uncomfortable.

Utterly woeful. As already mentioned, the dialogue was rapidly screamed and largely unintelligible. I commented early on that I needed subtitles. Can only say that I agree with the other 1 star reviews. Save your money and do something else in beautiful Melbourne

Went to watch Harry Potter and could have sworn I was watching Brokeback Mountain, if only I had a time turner I’d travel back to before I booked this.

Absolutely brilliant and glad I finally got to see Harry Potter before it leaves Australia. It's a long show but the storyline keeps you engaged and the acting and special effects are top notch. It felt like watching a live movie and brought back memories of the Harry Potter series growing up and still a potter nerd today. If you can, you must get the chance to see it before it leaves Melbourne for good as who knows if it will ever come back to Australia again. Only downside is the seats in the princess theatre are uncomfortable and offer very little leg room.

Travelled over to Melbourne from SA to see this with my teenage daughter. In short, it was brilliant. The theatre is beautiful, the ushers/staff all friendly & helpful and the production clever, creative, impressive and thoroughly enjoyable,
But! We had both read the play script/ book so knew the story. I think this definitely helps with the enjoyment of the experience, I would have been completely lost as to what was going on with the story if I hadn’t read the play script. The special effects/ magic was very impressive, & the cast overall great. We thought Scorpius in particular was just brilliant.
There were quite a few young children there, some coping better than others. They do recommend it’s not appropriate for young children and it’s definitely a dark themed play with several scary/confronting scenes.
Overall, we loved it and would see it again if we could! Lucky to sneak it in with the last few weeks of it being in Australia.

Enjoyable show with fantastic stage setup and special effects (the dementors are awesome and the most memorable for me)! Initially I was a bit lost for the first 15minutes trying to figure who’s who… My 12 year old enjoyed the shoe too and was totally engrossed throughout.
The show was a bit long and did drag out a bit, some parts could have been condensed without compromising the storyline.

Went with my ‘hard to please’ 17 year old as he’s been rewatching the Harry Potter films. He enjoyed this show especially the dementors and effects although he complained there was little leg room. I was fine as I am short. We had good seats first row, first balcony on the left. I didn’t know the story but enjoyed it. It was long, some scenes could have been cut and would not have been detrimental to the plot. The effects are well done. All the main characters and their children look reminiscent to the films but it irritated me that Hermione was a different race and it took both my son and I a while to realise this. The young boy actors were good, the others ok. Young kids might be scared in parts. Over all I’m glad I saw this

Hi there! I've been trying to book the Cursed Child tickets online from ticketmaster but keep facing this error. "Something went wrong... An error occurred and we could not reserve your tickets."
Was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem as well? If yes, how did you go about booking your tickets? I've emailed ticketmaster but they have yet to respond. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :D

Hi I've purchased tickets for the show, seeing parts 1 & 2 on the same day and want to know roughly how much time I have between first part ending (begins at 2pm) and 2ND part commencing (begins at 7.30pm) to plan where we go for dinner & what else we have time to do between showings? Thanks :)

I think both parts are around 2 hours and 45 minutes so you won’t have time to do much more than grab a quick meal somewhere close by the theatre

I guess then you should avoid those seats which are partially obscured views. We were way up the top but in the middle. Good view.

If you like Asian food, don’t look past rice, paper scissors!! Absolutely delicious! Short walk from Theatre. Enjoy the show.. it’s magical! 😉
