“Good and quiet place but don't expect too much.”

して自然に近い場所にですが、私のように清潔でかなりしたいと思います。オレンジカウンシルそれを改善することができました、現在ではほったらかしませんでした。あればよりもよしとします。

とてもきれい。ブドウ園ツアーに停止しました。日曜日サニーですが、寒いのに家族連れを楽しみながらの端がたくさんあります。湖を歩き回りました。小さくて素敵なコーヒーショップがある。湖での 2 つや、カヤック。

A picturesque water recreational area

From Orange we took Cargo Road until turning onto Lake Canobolas Road towards the lake. This is a man made body of water originally formed when Meadow Creek was dammed in 1918 to provide water for the township of Orange. Lake Canobolas has been dedicated to recreational activities since being superseded by Spring Creek Dam which is now the secondary water supply for the town. There is a cafe here, Lakeside Kiosk and Cafe, which was quite busy today, it would have been good to know this was here but taking our McDonalds coffee to a vacant table beside the lake, apart from the cool wind, it was a nice stop to sit and finish our coffee. There is a walkway which is probably the top of the dam wall that would take you to the other side of the lake, the dam wall is halfway along the walk so stopping here there were views to both sides of the wall.

Relaxing place

Make sure you go across to the other side of the reservoir wall.
There are very nice grounds with play equipment. You can either walk or drive.
Cafe near carpark has a range of coffee and snacks. I had the scones which were nice.
Walking tracks and grounds are being upgraded so there are some workmen there but should be all good for spring 2023.
Highly recommend for singles or families.

Fantastic recreation area.

The Lake was originally constructed in 1918 by damming the Molong Creek with the water being transported by pipeline to Orange. As Orange grew, the Lake proved to be not large enough to supply Orange with a sustainable water supply, so by 1957 alternate supply sources were investigated.

Nowadays the Lake and its surrounding area provides a fantastic spot for a range of recreation activities including swimming (there are two small "beaches" with sand and a pontoon), canoeing, walking (easy walk across the weir and around the Lake), cycling etc.

There is plenty of free parking and grassed areas with picnic tables and barbecue facilities etc plus a very good children's adventure playground with a zip line.

There is also a cafe but we did not visit as well as toilets.

Beautiful walk for the family and dogs

Easy and beautiful walk around the lake with our two children (aged 14 and 11), with a quick stop at the adventure playground for our youngest. Was great to be able to take the two doggies too! There was a cafe there as well although we didn’t use it as we brought a picnic. Highly recommended - beautiful spot!

Refreshing on a hot day

I love Orange. There is just so much to do from beautiful cool climate wineries like Colmar Estste and Rowlee Wines, to the boutiques and speciality shops, to nature walks and scenery Orange offers plenty. One of my favourites is Lake Canobolas which on a hot day offers two beach areas for swimming.

Fabulous local nature space

This is a very beautiful spot. Not only is the lake and the little beaches truly lovely but it is not crowded. Even on a hot January day.
One can walk and swim and eat. Picnic or get a takeaway or even better go to the dine in cafe. Kiosk. Stunning.
I love this place.
Families, friends, lovers. Good for everyone.

Beautiful scenery, easy walk

A walk around the lake is a must do if you're in Orange. An easy and flat 45min stroll - if you go anti-clockwise you finish the walk at the dam, and a reward at the cafe.

Beautiful place to walk

Very peaceful. Choose a med or long walk. Stunning lake and so close to Orange. Parking easy. We saw a few runners looks like a good place for daily fitness

I was out with my support worker on a windy day & would have liked to sit inside but thankfully I had my jacket & the coffee warmed my hands & a bit of Inside. So we decided to go for a walk around the building & near the walkway over the Lake. But as it was getting cold we decided to drive around the area. It was warmer inside & saw more places of interest.
