This Street Art Tour with Attila from Budapest Flow was awesome! I learned so much. Attila has lived in the area (former Jewish ghetto) since before it started being revitalized/gentrified and grew up under communism. He was able to explain some of the nuances and history of pieces that I just would never have understood or been able to appreciate otherwise.
Loved the combo of sanctioned murals, paste ups, stickers, tags and more. We had great conversations and saw so much more than “just” street art (and I’m kind of obsessed with street art). Was introduced to the work of @misskk_budapest, @0036mark, @okudart and more who I can now follow and appreciate their art from afar!!
We also went to a couple of ruin pubs, a cool bookstore/coffee shop, and he showed me some recommendations for shopping from vintage stores, local artists/makers instead of just mass produced stuff.
Would absolutely do another tour with Budapest Flow if I’m lucky enough to return to Budapest. I wish I’d also signed up for the Kolodko mini statue tour as well, but found Attila's blog post on the Kolodko statues incredibly helpful in creating my own mini self-guided tour.
