What a wonderful and unexpected find this gallery is. Situated on the stairs that lead down the hill from the Citadel to the Roman Theatre this gallery hosts the work of 34 fantastic artists and craftspeople. The artwork fills the walls of numerous rooms in a range of buildings on different levels. There is such a variety of styles, techniques, 2D and 3D pieces, in many different sizes and prices.
My favourites were the abstract Amman cityscapes, layer upon layer of blocks and smudges depicting the jumble of homes and alleyways that climb the sides of the city's hillsides.
There is a terrace cafe also with views of the nearby street art and ancient heritage.

I take my groups of tourists to see something original and alternative in Amman whenever our time allows, the plain Ammanite paintings are amazing and the Arabic calligraphy also captivates people.
