I have attended geisha events before, but this one felt somewhat lacking. The previous events I attended were more enjoyable. It was a traditional show, but perhaps I had set my expectations too high. It wasn't bad, just not quite what I hoped for.

Thank you for attending the geiko event at Kanazawa Asanogawa Enyukai Hall in June and we apologise for our late response. We are sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations. We offer a variety of events in Autumn and Spring, and private reservation plans all-year-round. It would be appreciated if you could visit our website again for information when you come back to Kanazawa next time.

This is the perfect window into this culture. It’s the perfect length of time as well and the fact that they opened up for questions with both the tea master and the geishas was very interesting. And we loved getting to personally drum with the geisha. It was a special experience to see this part of the culture up close and it was limited to 8 for tea and maybe 15 with the geishas. Book ahead for sure. You’d be shut out if you try to do this once there.

We attended the "Geisha and Tea Ceremony in Nishi Chaya District" organized by Art of Geisha and all we can say is WOW! What an incredible, unique, unforgettable experience. And, perhaps most importantly, authentic. We started the afternoon with an intimate tea ceremony hosted in the tea master's own home. It was fascinating to watch him work, and we loved being able to ask him questions. Then we moved to a nearby ochaya for an experience we won't soon forget. This is not a museum or a tourist attraction - it is a legit ochaya that operates by invite-only, except on rare occasions like ours. We were able to watch the geiko-san perform, then played games with them, got to ask questions -- and they even asked us some questions in return. It was so much fun (we laughed so much) and we learned about geiko-san culture directly from the source. Amazing. We would 100000% attend again. If you're hesitant about the price (we initially were), rest assured that the experience is worth every penny. THANK YOU, Art of Geisha! <3
