This small store has such a friendly vibe. The owner spent time with me, considering the best item for my needs. Very personable, good quality. Definitely worth the trip - the store is on the second floor of a building in a small lane but an online map can find it.

When we planned our Japan trip we were hoping to find a colorful Yukata to bring back as a souvenir. Our research pointed us to Fu-uka Kimono and we are so glad!
Its around the back of the block and up the stairs but it didn't take too long to find. And it didn't take too long to choose our Yukatas.
We learned that there are Yukatas that you wear in the house and longer, more ornate ones that you wear out. Initially, I thought I'd just get one for the house but i fell in love with a longer, navy Yukata with morning glory flowers! The house style are around $45 and the longer style around $75.
The shop keeper was so sweet and bubbly. She showed me how to fold the waist of the long Yukata to keep it off the ground and offered us a free gift for leaving her a review.
This is a unique and beautiful gift that will always remind me of our trip. Thank you!

I can only echo the favourable reviews already placed. Visiting this shop (which is not much larger than shown in the picture) was such an interesting experience. The owner/manager was so helpful and informative and very friendly. Her kimonos and yakutas are so attractive. The shop is not easy to find, but well worth the effort.

Seeing so many Japanese ladies strolling the streets of Kyoto, looking so elegant in their beautiful Yukatas, Tracey thought getting one would be a perfect memento of our Japan trip.
Following a bit of TripAdvisor research we made a trip to Fuuka Kimono, Google maps led us straight to the shop without any problems.
Lovely friendly, extremely helpful lady in the shop was able to help Tracey to find a wonderful Yukata, Obi and accessories .
The lady's English was very good and Tracey was so very happy with the beautiful outfit she bought.
Obviously western ladies are in general a little larger in some areas, the lady at Fuuka Kimono was very understanding and helpful with Traceys requirements.
We were also directed to a very useful YouTube obi tieing instruction video
All in all a lovely experience, (we promised Dylan - our 15 year old son will return one day with a future wife)
Lovely shop, lovely experience, thoroughly recommended

The attire selection is fabulous, the owners speak wonderful English and were genuinely friendly, they were super helpful in helping us choose the right things for our friends and family. The shop is small and hidden away from the street on the second floor above a bar, but the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. They have a great selection of kimonos and Yakutas for leisure or special occasions plenty of accessories and were happy enough to explain the proper use of such items and how and when to wear. As some one who has never been to japan before now, they made it easy to choose the proper attire and fit. They were super helpful in helping us in understanding and searching for what we wanted while not being forceful or pushy. It was truly a wonderful experience.

My husband and I knew very little about yukata, other than that we wanted one. The lady who worked there not only spoke wonderful English, but she was an absolute delight! She was incredibly kind and took time to explain everything and help us make our choices. Thank you for a fantastic experience!!

I'm so happy I chose Fuuka Kimono! All the staff are friendly and really make you feel at home. The owner is sooo nice and speaks great English! Thank you so much for making me feel beautiful! Cannot recommend this place enough!

I went there for a yukata and the lady advised me perfectly I love the one I bought and it is thanks to her ! She speaks english very well and is very helpfull. I had to ask to someone in the street to find the shop but after that it was very easy to find.
