Hello. I am Hero from Shiga. I have lived in Denmark, Canada, Germany.
I would like to explore Japan with you without language barrier. I know well about local foods, nature, sightseeing spots. Also, I can guide hiking, fishing, snorkeling...all kind of outdoor sports. I am originally from Shiga prefecture. Then I have lived in Nara, Okinawa. My major is marine biology. I played volleyball, rugby, swimming and diving! I can guide Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kobe, and Shiga!

Hiro was an outstanding tour guide! His deep knowledge of the Gion district and Kyoto made the tour both educational and enjoyable. He was attentive, ready to answer questions, and took care of all the details so that we could relax and enjoy. Hiro’s enthusiasm for sharing his insights was contagious. Although the pace was on the quicker side, it ensured we had the opportunity to take in more sights and experiences. As first-time visitors, we would have likely taken a less efficient route and missed some of the hidden gems Hiro introduced us to. His thoughtful recommendations, including walking us to an excellent ramen restaurant at the end of the tour, added a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend him for an unforgettable tour experience!

Our Gion night walking tour with Hiro of Hero Trips Japan was really fun and informative. We kept in touch via WhatsApp after our initial booking. Hiro reached out to ask if another couple could join. Absolutely! The perfect small group size. We met in front of Minamza Kabuki theater (where we also ended the tour). We had a great time conversing with Hiro and the couple from Australia. We learned a lot about the area, the Maiko and Geiko history, as well as the beautiful 600 year old pagoda nearby. Hiro kept our interest during the entire tour with his wealth of facts and information. He took photos of us along the tour and sent them to me via WhatsApp. Even though the tour was only an hour and a half long it was one of the best tours of our visit to Kyoto, Japan. We highly recommend Hiro of Hero Tours Japan.

Yes, you can wander around Kyoto with your phone attached to your hand, running down the battery following Google Maps and searching for tourist information (I’ve done it), or you can follow Hero for an enjoyable 1.5 hour exploration of Gion and nearby. Do the latter! Hero was easy to be with and chat to and knows his way around. It was a bit of a whistlestop tour, without too much detail (although we still learnt a lot!!), but that suited us and he was able to answer any questions if we wanted to know more. It was only the two of us on the tour, which was great, and Hero took us to an Isakaya afterwards for dinner and beers and to continue the conversation.

A great evening spent walking through Gion. Highly recommend this tour. Evening is much quieter than during the day and you get to see the small streets and learn the many Japanese customs. Hero was a great tour guide, took pictures for us and shared his knowledge. The walk was very pleasant and not too hard. My sixteen year old son loved this experience. Would highly recommend

Hiro was an excellent guide with an abundance of local and historical knowledge. We enjoyed that, as a private tour, he focussed on what we were most interested in learning about, and kept us enthralled through the tour. He took several, quality photos for us, which we appreciate immensely. We saw both the big highlights and the smaller, authentic streets of Gion. Hiro's communication was both good during booking and afterwards, and his dinner recommendation was top-tier. All round, a great night.

So much fun! If you're looking for a detailed historical tour, this is not for you. But if you want to feel like a friend is showing you around all the cool areas at night with fun facts along the way, then this is perfect. I'm so glad we had the chance to see the popular areas at night without the hordes of tourists you'd find during the day. The atmosphere was magical, especially in the Stone Wall area. The awesome photos were a welcome surprise and huge plus, too!

Do u provide 3-4 hrs tour of 祈園 on 12/26？ We’re a couple from Taiwan expecting a cultural experience of Kyoto.
We’ll stay in Kyoto for 2 days and then leave for Tokyo.
We’ve visited Kyoto before and this time we won’t visit famous temples as the 1st priority.
