Definitely recommend

Incredible to see the sights - the gates were stunning, the Buddha was massive, and the deer were a great experience. Taka was the best tour guide - knowledgeable, genuine, and fun!

Beautiful experience. Surprising temples in their magnificence, lovely woods and deer and a very friendly guide and concerned for your group.

Overbooked trip! Cancellation while waiting to be picked up from meeting point. Unacceptable!!!

I am beyond furious about how this day trip cancellation is being handled. I was waiting at the meeting point on time. First I get the text that they are running 30min behind then after 40min passed the pick up time, I get the text from the tour guide that the company has overbooked and there’s is no more space in the van. And that they would be able to process full refund. I demanded rebooking for the same tour 2 days later but told me that there’s no availability. I am here for 4 days only and I had carefully planned each day’s itinerary and you guys completely ruined it. This is unacceptable and I am supremely disappointment at how you operate your tours. I request further action to rectify the situation.

My husband and I enjoyed the one day trip to Kyoto and Nara. Taka, our guide was very personable and wanted to make sure we could capture the perfect photos in Gion, Kyoto. We asked a lot of questions at both the Shinto Shrine and the Buddhist Temple! Taka researched the answer if he didn't know it immediately. I enjoyed the fact Explorer Tours can only have a group size no bigger than 12 people as the company uses vans not buses as its mode of transport.

Good trip! The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly! The van driver was good and the van very comfortable. If you’re looking for a nice trip to learn about the temple in Kyoto and Nara take this trip.

We had a delightful day exploring incredible spots, even though the crowds and traffic made things feel a bit rushed. With our small group, we would have loved more time to browse the shops and food stalls. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, speaking English well and providing insightful commentary at the destinations.

The highlights included Nara Park, where we enjoyed the fresh air, lush greenery, and the unique sight of deer mingling with people. The Todai-ji Namdaimon (Grand South Gate) and Todai-ji Temple were truly breathtaking, and we realised we need to return to fully explore the vastness of Nara Park.

We found Gion a bit underwhelming. It’s one alley with a few restaurants and traditional architecture, but it felt limited. With only 1.5 hours to spare, we rushed through lunch, but had one of our best meals in Japan, and didn’t have time to explore the Geisha museum or the shops on the main streets.

Overall, The earlier stops felt a bit hurried as but we enjoyed our trip as a small family of three.

I’m truly glad you took the time to write a detailed review about our tour. Due to time constraints caused by factors like over-tourism in Kyoto and occasional traffic, the itinerary may sometimes be adjusted. However, our guides always make sure to take you to the most worthwhile and noteworthy spots. Compared to other options, we believe this still offers the best value and experience for you. We hope to have you the next trip to Japan.

Hi, let me know if I got this right. You want to go from Tokyo to Osaka, right? Then you need to take the Shinkansen bullet train and you should think at least 3-4 hours one-way. A good idea would be to find a place to stay in Osaka and explore the city with leisure. Anyways, if you want to go to Orange street. Taking the Yotsubashi subway line (blue) to Yotsubashi station and it's a less than a 5 minute walk from there. Hope this helps!
