固有種？の猿がいます。
体は小さめで、海を泳げるらしいです。
スタッフの方から、餌はあげないでくださいとアナウンスがありました。
野生の生き物に餌や飲み物を与えないように気をつけましょう。
ただ、皆さんとても感動していたようですが、日本人からすると猿はけっこう見慣れていることもあり、星3つとさせていただきました。

人の住むピピドン島西側にある、野生の猿が現れるモンキービーチ

ニホンザルより瞳が小さいのは暑い国だからでしょう
投げたパンを受け取ってくれましたが、一口食べて～ポイ！
パンより果物の方が美味しいのでしょうね

ツアーに参加してビーチから30メートルの所でシュノーケリングしました。水深は4メートルほどと思います。透明度は高めでたくさんの熱帯魚を見ることができました。ただ魚の種類自体は少なかったです。ツアーに参加するとここがシュノーケリングポイントの１つなのかもしれません。

ピピドン島からボートタクシーで訪問。
朝 8時台に行ってみたら他のボートもおらず、そしてお猿もいない。
しばし待ったけど現れず。
10時台に再度行って、しばらくしたらお猿が出てきた。
山から下りてきて、ちょっと浜をパトロールして人間の持ってるペットボトルとかを物色したのち、海に入ることもなく山に帰って行った。
お猿に会えるタイミングって少ないのかもしれない。

It all depends on the type of trip you are considering taking.
The ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi takes about 2 hrs.
If you are then going to be arranging your own private long tail boat from Phi Phi to explore monkey beach, Maya Bay, Pileah lagoon etc it only takes about 10 minutes to get to monkey beach by long tail boat.
If you are considering the trip via a package tour from Phuket on the catamaran then the journey times are all very different.

Any specific place you went to rent kayaks? Did you need to rent the kayak in advanced? Also, I will be staying in Phuket and notice that ferry times to Phi Phi are rather limited. Is it best to stay on the island? How were you able to get a whole days worth of experience? Thank you for suggestions!

Worth staying a few days in my opinion! The best experience we had was hiring a private long tail boat and get them to take you to monkey beach, maya bay, etc.. I think we opted for the 5 hour tour and there was plenty to see. Bring your own snacks and drinks for the day, they even take you to a few snorkeling spots. The best part is you can dictate how long you want to stay at each location.

When I was on Tripadvisor the other day I found some info with fantastic reviews and now I can’t find it.
It was a sunset cruise from Koh Phi Phi Don going to 4 islands and snorkeling with plankton .
I believe the tour operators were called Thassa or something and it was private .
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello , me and wifey were thinking to visit as many islands as we can in Thailand but excluding this organised trips which are all by time and we wanna be freee , we stay here for 18days and we just arrived yesterday so is plenty of time ... do you recon if I take scooter and drive to piere and then take a boat to the islands will save me money and take my time and stay and follow my rules. If you go to Phi Phi Island depending on which side of the island your hotel is located you will know how much freedom you have to move around by your self. If you stay at Tonsai Pier you will be able to move around by foot and motorbike. If you stay on the other side on Tonsai Pier you will always need to move around by boat. It really depends on where you will be staying.
But 18 days you will have enough freedom to move around and get to know all of the islands. Also for 18 days you should be able to negotiate a good price with a boat driver.

wieviel bezahlt man für so ein Trip? das billigste was ich jetzt gesehen habe waren 2800 Baht für ein Tagesausflug... geht doch bestimmt noch billiger

Hi, I coudnt remember how Iong was the journey since we availed the tour package which includes other islands and took us more than half day to finish.
I'm not sure if you really can get here just by using kayak.
I haven't seen anyone ride a kayak to the Monkey beach. This seems a little far from the main island/resorts where you can rent kayaks.

This will be my 1st trip to Thailand. My son lives & works there, and he's been to Kho Phi Phi before. I am not a scuba diver 1st off, so what is good for me to do on Kho Phi Phi? I like sight seeing, nature, & beautiful beaches. Thank you.

Hello!
You say that you like beauty full nature and beaches. Then it will be all good for you. :) It's a little bit like paradise as you probably know.
Besides snorkelling there's not so much to do but enjoying the sun and the scenery. There are some restaurants at some of the stops when you go by boat. We went by speedboat and had a nice meal at koh phi phi don.
