Took the tram to 1800 feet then hiked it to the cross on top. The scenery is actually almost unbelievable. Bring Binoculars, Eagles, possibly Bears and tremendous views of the mountains.

This trail is walkable from Downtown Juneau. It's all uphill however, so just be prepared to walk quite a ways until you reach the trail itself! It's very peaceful and well maintained, and has great views of the surrounding mountains and waterfalls. You even pass an old gold mine where people still practice mining today. We completed half of the trail and then turned around (about 4 miles total)

A great hike with amazing views, cute bridges, and well-maintained trails. If you enjoy peace and quiet during your hikes would recommend heading out early as during the day there can be more people (nothing crazy though). We walked from downtown Juneau to the end of the trail and back and that was perfect for the day. The toughest part of the hike was getting from downtown to the start of the trail (most incline).

I had some time before heading to the airport after my cruise ended, so I decided to explore this trail. It was a beautiful way to end my vacation! I started at the harbor and walked to the trail head from there, buying a few gifts at the shops in town- and realized I'd walked enough! Eve the walk there was beautiful and peaceful with the occasional locals, either walking or driving but politely sharing the road. It was interesting to get close to where the streams coming down from high in the mountains formed a roaring river. The size of the boulders left by receding glaciers was truly impressive.

I wish I could have gone more into the woods but bears live there and we'd been told on the cruise that it was safer to hike in groups.

Still a spectacular walk.

I parked the car in a free public parking lot on the corner of 8th street and Basin Rd.
After photographing my rental car, I walked on Basin Rd, passing a purple house, then crossing a drivable narrow bridge to find the Perseverance Trailhead sign.
The sunny day made the trail, easy and enjoyable, crossing bridges and breathing fresh air. Passing the Mine Camp trail sign, I continued hiking on the snow covered trail for a short distance. I stopped where the boardwalk path had been torn apart by the strong water current. A waterfall greeted me on my right side.

Spent approximately half day hiking this out and back trail in on and off rain. Made for a wet day, but also made for a spectacular torrent pouring thru the creek and creating impressive results at the Glory Hole. Combined with a short trip down the Flume Trail, made for an enjoyable outing.

Beautiful trail with scenic views of the raging river. We hiked this trail in May 2021 and the snow was still pretty deep as you got further into the trail. But well worth the effort!

A pretty easy trail that offers great views! Make sure to put dogs (and unruly children) on a leash near the sheer dropoffs.

Probably the most physically demanding trail we explored during our stay in Juneau. This is primarily because it is all uphill (mild to moderate grades) going in, but oddly enough the trip back seemed harder on the legs. Trail is in good shape although it is prone to rock slides, so there are patched segments (no difficulty with negotiating). More joggers than the other trails we were on in Juneau as it is apparently the "training run" for the more athletically inclined residents. Make sure you go to the falls.

The trail can be as long or short as you want. I wouldn;t necessarily recommend the whole length. You can take it about an hour to see the waterfall really well. Go just a little past that and there is a side trail not as well traveled that goes right to the top of the falls and is great. There are many traisl that connect and can be made a longer hike all way to the old mine too but the views are less along this part. It is a good amount of elevation gain and uphill for about all of it. But we did it with teens and some 70+. Near the parking area, go towards the mine museum to get rigth down by the creek too.
