This is a very popular exhibits, that is used by many for selfies or other photo-ops.
It consists of several dozens street lights in straight rows.

Está lindo. La mejor hora para tomarse fotos es al atardecer ya que prenden las luces de las lámparas y la obra luce más. Yo fui en Semana Santa y no había tanta gente, aún así, la poca que había se podía tapar jugando con los ángulos de la foto.
La hora a la que yo fui en abril fue de 18:30 a 19:30 aprox.

I mean, everyone should probably stop here for a picture or two because the Urban Lights appear so often in movies. I wouldn't stop here for any other reason though.

Trip the light fantastic

This unique installation is a bit of an institution in LA now. It’s well worth seeing and it’s actually outside the museum if spending time at LACMA is not your thing. Parking is a bit of an issue but the lights look great at anytime of the day or night so go when it’s quiet and enjoy!

Un lugar pintoresco y curioso. Aunque merece más la pena por la noche, es agradable también por el día. Indicar que por las fotos parece mucho más grande de lo que es. La zona del parque junto a las farolas también está bien, tanto para visitar el museo como para dar un paseo simplemente por la zona. Abierto 24h. Gratuito.

Da passarci solo se di strada

Ci siamo andati solo perché di strada e perché fa ridere l'idea che sia considerata come l' opera più importante di Los Angeles.
Sulla via di fronte si trovano parcheggi lungo la strada fino a due ore. Noi abbiamo pagato per mezz'ora ed è anche avanzata. Simpatiche le statue delle teste degli animali accanto all'ingresso del museo.
Essendo arrivati poco prima delle 19 abbiamo assistito anche all'accensione delle luci.

Fun to see in person

This is a cool installation at the LACMA and worth stopping to see, I didn't realize how different each individual light is until you see it in person. If you go at night be prepared for a LOT of people, you won't get a photo without someone in it unless you use photoshop. We stopped after our visit to the museum and with a little patients, I was able to get a relatively clean shot with just a couple of folks in it. Not sure it is worth driving out of your way to see, but if you are in the area it's a good stop.

Beautiful stop

We got lucky while driving we saw it and stopped the car nearby and visited. It is a beautiful spot to take pictures. It was also seen in the move 'love actually'.

Visit the street light display

You can visit Urban Lights free without going into LACMA. We visited before going into the museum. I would be interested to see this at night when the lights are on. It is very cool. Go there!

This was located right in front of the LACMA and even though it was outdoors masks were required back In May.

It was one way in and out which a security guard was quite strict on managing.

There were 202 street lamps which were acquired for this collection from lamps retired from use off the streets of LA. Only the grey paint was the unifying theme otherwise the lamps were different.

Will try to come back in the evening when the lamps are lit.
