A magnificent experience that I highly recommend. Very educational and inspirational. The staff's knowledge and passion is commendable. Tours are run very well and disciplined. I was concerned about touring with a bus load of school kids but order and silence were expected and required. The only time they made noise is when it was time for the group howl.

I pretty much made a last minute decision to go, sending my reservation request at 7 a.m. requesting the 10 a.m. tour. Trisha called at 8 and said they were booked until noon with a school group but said they had a 'Meet and Greet' at 9 with only three guests registered. I didn't think I would make it by 8:45 but she said, since it's a small group, as long as I got there before 9, I would make the tour. I booked it then booked it out of my hotel, arriving at 8:57.

Meet and greet with Keyni and Makuee was awesome. Just as we were told, Makuee was in your face with slobbery kisses and loved attention and being scratched about anywhere. Keyni went nose to nose and stared directly into your eyes and deep into your soul. He is beautiful...and he loves some back scratching, too. Makuee loved her snacks. And they both got into the group howl with enthusiasm.

Following the Meet and Greet, the standard tour introduced the group to all the rest of the members of the pack, including the foxes and singing dogs. Almost all of the residents got up close and personal while Emily gave her presentations, whether explaining the situation with each pack member, the operation or the plight of wolves. The Mexican wolves were the only ones who kept their distance but the rules for engagement with them and the red wolves are different.

Take some time to explore a little before or after your tour. The story of Chinook and Nikita is poignant and easily missed. They boast the longest covered bridge in Colorado, the Skyfox Freeway. The upstairs gallery is beautiful. And it's nice to relax with a cup of coffee or a snack before you leave.

Receive a GIANT kiss from these stinkin' cute wolves! If you are in Colorado, be sure to visit the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. My 9-year-old and I recently booked the Full Moon tour & we had an AMAZING time. We learned a lot, got to pet the wolves, enjoyed some hot cocoa by the fireplace, and even met a real-life Wolf Fairy named Darlene. Contrary to popular belief, wolves are neither lonely nor dangerous. They don't attack humans, ADORE puppies, & if you see one in the wild — consider yourself LUCKY🍀

Very good experience the guides volunteers were very kind and offered amazing stories about the different animals and how they came to be living at the wolff sanctuary.
Learned interesting facts about the fur trade, the wolf introduction into the different states and all the different types of wolves, wild dogs and foxes there are.

There are a variety of tour options, we did both the Ultimate Alpha ($500 off-season) and the general tour (about $20); all of the money goes to the conservation, education, care, maintenance, and advocating for the wolves in congress. Many of these wolves are being killed off and are critically endangered. In the past, sharks were killed off due to fear, and now they are protected and people are big advocates for sharks. We need the same kind of advocacy for the wolves. They are apex predators who keep our ecosystem healthy. If you think wolves are the primary source of death for cattle, think again, it's disease. Wolves make up less than 2% of cattle loss.

I must admit I didn't think much of wolves prior to coming to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, but now I have a new-found respect for these magnificent animals with very complex and social circles, even rivaling those of humans! Our guide for the day was "Fish". He was the perfect person for the job as he was very passionate about what he was speaking of, and funny as heck too.

ALPHA TOUR - do this if you can afford it, it's worth it! Our son spent 1 hour with several wolves, and two foxes. Included in the price: 50 photos taken by the resident photographer, who did a wonderful job. There's a strict dress code you can find on their webpage, so read it carefully before you show up for any kind of interactive tour. Our son said this was a bucket list of his, and he was very very happy and elated for days after the visit. The wolves actually licked his face and mouth!!

GENERAL TOUR - We were given the option to leave after the Alpha Tour but we stuck around, and loved every minute of it. Our guide Fish gave us information about each fox/wolf and how they came to be rescued, and why having wolves and foxes as a pet is a bad idea. Highly recommended and affordable for anyone, unlike the Alpha Tour. They have cheaper interactive tours, but whatever tour you take, it's helping to fund the CWWC.

OTHER FUN: The guide will howl, and make the group howl, and the wolves will all start howling as well! It was super cool to be 'part of the pack'.

GIFT SHOP: super cool gift shop with a coffee shop (donations for coffee/tea/cider) attached to it so you can sit down and warm up by the fire place. A resident cat kept following us all around the store. It even followed us upstairs to the gallery/photo office and sat next to my husband. The cat really loved us.

TOILETS: outside, enclosed porta-potty type.

PARKING: outdoor, free parking.

We decided to visit the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center for our anniversary. We did the VIP experience and I'm sooo glad we did. You start your adventure with the "basic" tour. Our guide was exceptional. He began with telling us about wolf history in America. A lot of it was really sad but informative and interesting. After that he took us around to each inclosure to tell us about the animals. Each inclosure has 2 animals, an alpha and a beta. They don't put in a 3rd because the gamma would be picked on and not included. We saw lots of different wolves, some foxes, singing dogs and coyotes. After the tour, my husband & I were taken to an enclosure where we got to meet and interact with Orenda & Isha. I was a little nervous ... they're wolves! Our guide was really great. He answered all our questions and knew how to encourage the wolves and the somewhat nervous people to make friends. These wolves are incredible, they're beautiful and just like us, they have individual and interesting personalities. I'm so grateful for this experience. I loved these "dogs" and I now feel more educated about the wild animals who wander into my backyard.

The tour was informative and interesting. Although pricy, I figured the money was going to a good cause. We hit the gift shop on the way out, but I didn't buy anything because I didn't want to have to carry a metal print on the airplane home. I ordered a print when I got home, but, more than two months later, haven't yet received it, nor has anyone responded to my multiple inquiries directly and through PayPal. Buyer beware!

Where do I begin? These animals are beautiful, and they are so well taken care of. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed learning about wolves and foxes. The kids learned a lot too and got to see something unique! Will definitely return for a few of the special experiences.

at first i was worried that the group was too large to get a good experience (it was over 35 at the start and it grew a bit) but they totally proved me wrong. it was an amazing experience. Educationally amazing to start, and they totally went overboard on question answering and allowing any animal they thought might want to be social to have a chance at the group. im not sure if thats normal, but it was awesome. even got visited by a 35 year old horse that looked younger than i do.
that was before the tour, and that was awesome in its own right. i wont give spoilers, but if you have any passion for animals, or friends on 4 legs, give this place a shot. the $ goes to rehab on the pretties, so its easy to stomach.

amazing job everyone did today, i look forward to coming back.

I cannot possibly overstate how much I enjoyed my experience at CWWC! It exceeded ALL my expectations! The standard tour, with Emily, was both educational and fun. I’ve always loved wolves and very much believe their presence in the wild is critical for the survival of our ecosystem. Now I have some facts to present when someone wants to argue that wolves are dangerous, kill livestock, should be hunted. . .pick one. I am so thankful this center not only exists but works so hard to educate people. My encounter with Na’vi and Tala was nothing short a dream prior to visiting CWWC. Emily and Ethan made my encounter experience something I will never forget. Hopefully I can return in the near future for another encounter. The gal who greeted me when I arrived was very welcoming and patient with me when I asked so many questions. She also assisted me when the encounter was over and I was trying to choose items to purchase. I apologize that I can’t recall her name. Queen was an added highlight!
To the person who complained in a previous review: This center is run by professionals. They have schedules. They must have schedules in the best interests of the animals who reside there. Just to make myself clear, if you can’t follow the rules that are clearly stated, you might want to visit a zoo where times for entry are much more flexible.

They charge $25 to get in. You can't see the wolves but behind fences far away and they are laying down. Add another $50 and you can have a fox come up to you, but don't touch. I went to the zoo for $14 in Panama City Beach and we had a huge white wolf sit right next to me for picture and I pet him for free. This is just a money making place, not for tourists. Very disappointed. No good photos at all.
