We didnt do the whole loop but what we saw was amazing and fun things to see along the way. I would recommend doing this.

Easy to follow byway with great sights right from the car. We had some rainy weather and needed to find some things to see and this was teh perfect sight seeing tour right from our rental car.

We pass though here in our way to the Red Rocks Park and the views of Atlanta city as well as the mountains is simply breathtaking.
I recommend a drive through here, including a couple of stops to take in the scenery.

My wife and I took this loop while visiting the area.
Very nice drive. Lots to see. Takes you thru some quaint town.
Allow time to stop and enjoy all the trip has to offer.

Great scenery. Some of the areas were really crowded but it was a Sunday. Had a hard time finding food. No parking spots to be found! I would definitely recommend the loop.

Take a half-day or so and plan trip here and make a few stop overs. Well worth the time for a fun drive with beautiful views.

This is a very beautiful way to see the Rocky Mountains! Totally worth the time!! The snowy mountain scenery was amazing!!

This whole Lariat Loop is only 40 miles long. We picked it up in Evergreen, drove up Lariat Mountain Road all the way to Golden. We stopped at Lookout Mountain for great views of Golden and Denver areas and then down to Golden. The road to Golden was downhill all the way while twisting and turning and trying to avoid bicyclists too.

A Nice short loop where you get a taste the mountains without driving much, awesome views, sceneries and cozy gift shop at the Buffalo Bill Grave Park

This starts from a short drive from Denver.
The road trip takes you through a nice scenery and lots of interesting places to stop.
Make sure you have at 1/2 tank of gas so no need to think of refuelling
Nature and scenery are the highlights here

Which leg of the loop is more scenic ? From Golden to evergreen or from evergreen to Morrison?

They both have spectacular views. Morrison to Evergreen, up Hwy 74 is probably more fascinating. Watch for the "kissing bears" rock formation on the left side of the road, going up. Going up and down on I-70 is spectacular mostly because of the view when you get to the top of Vernon Canyon and see the panoramic view of the Rockies and the Continental Divide. Going down you get to see the panorama of the plains that then stretch to the Mississippi River. Use a lower gear and don't burn out your breaks, which can be embarrassing and or deadly.
