The views were incredible and the whole adventure from boarding the boat to the beach to crossing the rivers to get there and in the end cool off and bathe in the waterfall is just the cherry on the cake, the only bad thing is, as in so many places you are forced to consume with the lodgers if you do not run from the site, that should be regulated and/or prohibited

A hidden gem in the Pacific, excellent food, all fresh, a very simple place to enjoy with the family. You will only arrive by boat on an excursion that lasts many hours, but it is worth it.

We took a boat from Boca Tomatlán to Quimixto and hiked up to the waterfall. Hike was mostly paved. You must buy a drink to enter, they prefer you buy food.

This is a must do place if you have a long trip here in PV. We took boat from Boca and back 240 pesos return cost. Hike to the waterfall is easy very well-built trail. At the waterfall there is a small bridge to an area for beer and other refreshments at reasonable cost for where it is located. We took horses back instead of walking. Absolutely, the best guide I have ever been with. He took me and my wife back down the trail while signing most of the way down. There are very few places to eat in Quimixto. One man that had small place that sold beers saw that we were looking for food, so he walked us along a side trail that took us to a nearby resort where we had lunch, fantastic experience.

Quimixto is currently at its best, the road to the waterfall has cement, it is very clean, it is swept daily, you can go on horses or a motorcycle, after the hurricane a lot of work has been done to reestablish and welcome people, support by consuming your step in the local businesses and in the La Cascada restaurant, people work hard to serve daily, hurricanes every year affect the people's economy and they have to get up and continue. Beautiful experience, it's beautiful, pure fun.

Fantastic tour. We did so much and everything was very safe and well organized. The Hidden Beach is stunning and the beautiful swarms of fish are also a must see. Thanks guys!

We caught the water taxi in Boca...and headed out. Most others on the taxi were not headed here..Las Animas and Yelapa seem to be much more popular.
On arrival...we exited the taxi onto a nice pier and headed into town.
In mid June at 9:00 AM...there is not alot going on here (which was expected). We strolled through the town and headed for the waterfallls.
After we crossed the river...the signage was pretty good...and the trail was pretty well kept providing some fun photo shots.
Not yet rainy season...the falls were fine (i'm sure they get much better later in the year)...and the restaurant was adequate.
Hike back the the beach (same trail) was fun and had lunch on the beach at Los Cocos (excellent!).
Highly recommend for a fun day away from larger crowds!

Nice day trip. Just be aware of boat taxi prices. First quote from Boca to quimixto was 1000mex pesos round trip for 2. Second quote was 480. We found out later that standard price is 200 pesos round trip for 2 persons. We paid more than double ! It s not so much about beiing robbed of 15 usd…it’s the fact that you always have to watch yourself all the time. Btw, you have to pay for drinks at the cascada if you want to go swim- see them.

This beach is quiet and a bit out of the way. Really pretty and worth the trip. There is a spot to rent surf stuff, though you have to be really good because it's rocky all around. We just took the bus from Puerto Vallarta to Boca de Tomatlan (10 pesos per person) and then caught a water taxi (100 pesos per person each way). We didn't wait at all for the water taxi going out and waited about 10 minutes to catch one going back

The waterfall is absolutely beautiful! If you're brave (and fit!), jump from the cliff side. If not, you can take stairs down to the water! We also really enjoyed sitting beside it while having a beer at El Paraiso Restaurant and Bar (50 pesos each).
The hike itself is not too strenuous; take your time! The one thing I didn't like was sharing the trail with horses. The dust they kicked up made the hike a little harder for me. Also, watch your step!!
All worth it however!

Correction to my post NOT at Hotel Barcelo. That is the street for Mismayola about 15 min north. For Boca de Tomatlan look for the bus stop area. There is a turn out with a food stand on the right hand side when headed south. Go down that steep street to the parking and pier area. See my details in review.

How much is a water taxi from Boca de Tomatlan to Quimixto? Per taxi or Per person?

Yesterday while on the beach we scheduled a private panga rental seven of us in the group came out $40 an hour. We can go anywhere we want even bring our own food and drinks. A great deal imo.
投稿日:2018年6月8日
if we want to rent a water taxi or panga to take us to the falls, do we need to arrange for horses in advance? How do we get to the place where the horses are? thanks
投稿日:2017年12月6日
Last time I was there the horses were readily available after a short walk up the hill.

How long is the hike. After the storms has anyone been there ?
What is the condition of the trail. How hot of a walk is it. We will be there first of November

It's not a really high waterfall, more of a cascading down the rocks. But it's pretty and s fun walk.

Mahajuitas is a public beach and great for snorkeling. Also Los Arcos are is fun. It's best to charter a private Panga (you can find panga rental near Lost Muertos Pier, I wouldn't pay more than 700 or 800 pesos/hr for a panga boat (not a yacht) and make a few stops along the way. Start from Los Muertos Beach (versus the Marina).
I would suggest leaving around 10am to avoid Vallarta Adventure Tours. I would avoid Vallarta Adventure tours altogether (just my opinion as they have swim with dolphin tours which I'm against).

Is there a way to pre-book this excursion? If so, how and where?
投稿日:2017年2月7日
The waterfall is a casual 30 minute walk inland from the end of the central village road. It's accessed by a well marked, trodden trail. The village offers horseback rides to the waterfall and it's cozy waterside cafe. The horses and the villagers keep the trail well marked.
