I'm not a gardener, but I am a history-lover. I'll be traveling through Missouri this fall. Is the Bakersville Pioneer Village worth a visit on a non-festival weekday just for lunch and a look around?

I would say yes! Because it is still a very scenic and beautiful place just to walk through and see all the gardens, flowers, peacocks, chickens, sheep, as well as the neat village buildings like the little bakery, seed barn, blacksmith, etc. There was no entrance fee and it is a pleasant and peaceful way to spend a few hours on a lovely fall day! I suggest that you call first just to confirm things before you drive out there.
Phone: (417) 924-8917 Sunday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 Festival Hours (First Sunday of the Month March thru October) Open at 10:00am Closed Saturdays and major holidays.
(Monday thru Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) **Also, if interested Laura Ingalls Wilder's Historic Home & Museum is only 5 miles away! Hope this is helpful for you!
When is the village open? Hours of the day and what schedule during the year? Is there any cost?

I'm not sure if the village is open all the time or not. I was there for a festival. I do know they are always closed on Saturday. There was no fee when I went for the festival. I'm sure their website has more details
