船の左側に座ったが、ほとんど右手に観るものがあり、シャッターチャンスも少ない。
ペルー、ワカチナからツアーで行ったが個人的にお勧めはしない。

ナスカの地上絵ついでにパラカス観光で利用しました。船で30分ほどでオタリアのコロニーを見に行けます。コロニーは膨大な数のオタリアがいて、赤ちゃんもたくさんいました。また、少数ですがペンギンもいました。

日本では動物園でしか見られないような動物の自然な姿を間近に見ることができます。アシカは思い思いに日向ぼっこをしていてかわいかったです。海鳥の多さも圧巻。クルージングはとても気持ちよかったです。

リトルガラパゴスという何に惹かれて行ってみました。
パラカスから少し行ったところにあります。
カツオドリとアシカが、信じられない数で群れていました。
アシカなんかはコロニーになっていてびっくりしました。
島までの道のりに地上絵もありますよ。
私たちは船上でイルカも見る事ができました。
とにかく自然いっぱいの島です。
せっかくリマ、ナスカに行かれるならば、是非足を伸ばしてみてはいかがでしょうか。

リトルガラパゴスと聞いて、ナスカの地上絵ツアーに組み込んでもらいました。
パラガスという海辺の町からスピードボートに乗って、スペイン語と英語で案内してもらいながらバジェスタス島を1時間かけてクルーズします。
最初に燭台の地上絵（カンデラブロ）を海から眺めたあとは海鳥やペンギン、アシカがいっぱい。
海鳥の群れが縦横無尽に飛び回っているので、落し物（糞害）にはご注意ください。
あと、島に近づけば近づくほど、こちらも糞の匂いがきついので、匂いが苦手な人はマスクやタイルがあった方が良いかも。

Do the major buses drop and pick up near enough to the boat tours to walk to the boat tours? (We'd be taking a Cruz del Sur bus from Lima to Paracas and leaving after the boat tour on the cheapest local bus we can find to Ica) Assuming all buses depart/drop off in the same area-?

Yes that bus has a depot in walking distance to where the boats depart from. We walked from bus depot after coming from Lima on same bus, walked to hotel and walked for the boat trip. Enjoy!

We are arriving at the Lima airport in the middle of the night and considering taking a bus to Paracas directly very early. Although Peruhop and other buses run tours it's hard to say if we could just take say a Cruz del Sur comfort bus to sleep and then arrive in Paracas early and arrange our own boat tour, then try to get to the dunes in the afternoon on our own. Is this silly and we should just go with an agency. Or could this save us some money and keep our schedule flexible? Do the boat tours run all the time and we can easily catch one or should we book this ahead? And how much would a boat tour be on its own?

I did both - Peruhop and booking by myself on the spot.
Definitley preferred doing the booking myself. It keeps you super flexible and the buses in peru are clean and on time, plus it’s way cheaper than Peruhop.
The boat tours you then just book once you’re in paracas.
Even though I would consider skipping the islands as they were not really worth the trip! But the park is supposed to be nice!

We are coming in on a cruise ship into Pisco at 8am in February. Will we be able to jump on a tour boat leaving for the Ballestas Islands from that dock area? If not, will there be people selling the trip once we get on the pier?

Hi, we only see departure time at 8 or 10 am... but I recommend you to email findlocaltrips or PeruHop because They can provide you alternative hours. we saw multiple locals at the pier and tourist doing reservation same day.I hope you find late ballesta trip because is a wonderful nature experience!

We are going mid July - and I can't seem to find good info online about what wildlife is likely to be there that time of year, though I've found info that December-February is best.

I went in May and it was pretty good, but really depends on how much rain. So recommend not the rainy season

There are three different tours listed here and only two seem to have boat rides. Will not be staying in Paracas, so it will take a couple of hours to get there. Wondering if we just show up...do the boats just depart at 8 am or are there other times throughout the day?

Good question. I did everything through GoToPeru and I highly recommend them. There were other boats going out, and everyone seemed to be on a list or have tickets prior to departure. Contact GoToPeru, though I had a quirk or two, they were phenomenal.

The excellent multilingual freelance nature/bird guide is called Edgardo Aguilar. He was using one of the 'Penguino' boats when I was there. He was working from the end pier ( walk as far up the promenade keeping the sea to your left) each morning from about 07:30 and the boat left fairly promptly at 08:00. He sometimes does a second trip at 10am. As he is free lance he is not always around.
