As all the reviewers say, the collection is fabulous, and the tour is excellent. The tour is mandatory -- you can't view the house on your own. The website is defective, b/c it doesn't say the times of the tours: 10:00, 11:30. 13:00. 14:00 and 15:00. It's best to call them and reserve space on a tour.

We had the privilege of a personal tour guided by Sergio, who was knowledgeable, informative , and fun ! This ambitious collection and thought fully designed space is very impressive ! An absolute gem to feast your eyes on when visiting Valladolid !

Highlight of Valladolid

This private home right off the plaza is chock full of Mexican folk art. They used to have one tour a day but I guess the word is out because now they have more. Our tour was in English - they do Spanish tours as well just depending on who shows up. Photos are allowed. The tour is free but they request donations that go to local charities. I think the last tour is at 3. Well worth a visit, our guide David was excellent and there were some fabulous pieces!

Best recommendations and the tour schedule you're looking for

As everyone writes, this is really good. I couldn't find this information anywhere, so I took notes of the tour schedule. Tours begin every day at 10:00, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00. Just be there s few minutes early and wait outside. It's a pretty anonymous facade, but inside it's a fabulous walk through Mexican folk art.

Très proche du centre, cette grande maison privée, appartenant à un couple d'octogénaires américains est un lieu que les propriétaires ouvrent au public pour des visites guidées. Nous avons même croisé les propriétaires à leur petit-déjeuner et ils sont qui sont heureux de partager leurs acquisitions avec les visiteurs. Dedans, ilon passe d'émerveillement en émerveillement devant tous ces trésors artisanaux/ artistiques mexicains que ce couple a acquis. Le passage d'une pièce à l'autre nous a laissés ébahis à la fin.

Must see in Valladolid

We were blown away by the collection of incredible Mexican contemporary and folk art found in this home, The couple who own the house, the Venators have done a terrific job renovating the house and filled it with amazing paintings and sculptures, as well as furniture and tableware by local artists and artisans. It would be fantastic to be one of their houseguests and get to spend more time here. That would be my only complaint is that after the great guided tour (thanks David), we could not stay to wander around the house some more. You have to remind yourself this is still a private residence. If you're in Valladolid and you appreciate art, don't miss this!
