このパスを抜け、最も美しいドライブ。 。 。 が、となります。道の全てのレビューとむだ毛、州と広め携帯家は私のように車で通過したらごクラッチ活用に置いたときに付けてください ! ! ! ですが、価値はあるので眺めが山の向かいにあるし、スカイ島やその向こうの島へのブリデス諸島 " の、息を呑むほどである。 。 。最も新鮮なカニ、サラダ、 applecross インと、よりリラックスしたちょっとまだ息を呑むようの途中 applecross の反対側・ベイ、半島を巡る出発

立ち入らました ! 濃い霧を通過してくれました。 6 時で、次の朝帰り、霧、うっそうとしたもっとましたが、雨が降っ覗く、凍えるほど寒く、素晴らしいレッドディア " 霧と影、白いウォーカーズスタジアム " 飛降りていました ! もう行きません。 。 。。私もまた泊りに行きたいに行くのが待ちきれません。

We were lead to believe this was a challenging drive and a highlight for so many.
We made sure we read as much as we could so we were ready for the drive.
Thank you to the person who did write a review stating that if you’ve driven the highlands it is not a challenge, as a result we felt confident.
Given all the hype, we also planned to do it again after lunch and back again (so 3x) switching drivers.
As we’re nearing the end of a 3 week NC500 anticlockwise drive, it was not the highlight we expected.
The highlight was watching motorhomes negotiate turns (driving east from Applecross).
We went from east to west ending the drive in Applecross. The Inn is a lovely lunch spot.
We are both confident drivers, second trip to Scotland, well travelled Aussies.
I guess if people fly in, go straight to Applecross and haven’t seen Scotland yet, it would deserve the rave reviews.
In our opinion the coastal drive from Applecross to Shieldaig was stunning.
Another top drive was the road towards Torridon (from Gairloch).
To be fair we are loving every drive , day and experience in Scotland.

Bendy steep and great views

Great views, perfectly doable, but unwise in a very large vehicle due to the hairpin bends. We passed a car parked in a passing place with a car parked alongside it blocking the road. We had to stop and had trouble getting going again due to the steepness, and the size of our vehicle. Please don’t do it. If you are used to driving on the Isle of Mull or the Highlands, this road is much like many you will have driven, but it’s probably best to do it from the Applecross end and go down because if you have to stop while going up, and pass on the bends, it can get a little tricky. Ok road, not as scary as some make out! We did it in a 22’ Motorhome, but wouldn’t be happy in anything bigger.

Een goed te berijden fraaie pas

De pas is een bezoek waard en is goed te rijden. Door de reviews van anderen, wat het rijden betreft, vond ik het best spannend maar dat bleek totaal niet nodig. De pas is prima te doen. Okee, de wegen zijn niet breed maar dat geldt voor half Schotland.

My husband really wanted to drive this route and he loved it. I kept my eyes averted for most if it. In general people are orderly but we had to back up a few times. Nice view from the top.

Just Do It Outstanding Drive

Just completed the trip today 5/9/23 stunning weather clear blue skies. Easy drive as long as you remember to keep an eye open for other road users and be prepared to stop and backup if necessary. Took 25 minutes to the top and its stunning viewpoint, then 15 into Applecross. Went around the peninsula on the way back just as stunning in a coastal way the trip back took around an hour. Best driving experience I have had in the UK

Fantastic road trip for the brave! Did the trip in a motorhome, 5.9m, easily. Wouldn't like to do it in a bigger vehicle and certainly wouldn't go in late July/August, too many people, foreign motorbikes, etc. Beautiful scenery for the passenger. Love to do it again one day🥰

A unique experience….

I travelled over the Bellach Na Ba by motorbike and because I had read varies reviews I did not know what to expect. Thankfully we had a clear day for our trip and the views are stunning from the top. The road is in reasonable condition but it becomes hazardous at times because there are motor homes also doing the crossing that are too big for the route given it’s narrowness in places. But for two- three very tight hairpin bends the road is not too challenging but the fact that these hairpins are either as you ascend or descend steeply they can be difficult to manoeuvre when carrying g a passenger and full luggage. On reflection though if riding solo I would not envisage the road to be too challenging overall for experienced bikers.

don't be put off by the talk - this was a brilliant road up and down with proper hairpin bends. Most of the time you can see an oncoming vehicle and wait in the passing space. I thought the "wee mad road" was a lot worse than this one

We went here twice. The first time we went in the evening and had a lovely view but it was quite busy. The second time we went in the morning and all we could see was fog (was quieter though!). Absolutely amazing road to go down!

Worth doing

So based on the earlier reviews we expected this to be really challenging. Honestly… we didn’t think it was that bad. My husband picked up driving on the opposite side really quickly though and I’d consider him a skilled driver in general, so maybe that made the difference. I was not nervous in the passenger seat and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the drive to others. We did meet a couple that said they had been white knuckling it the entire way so I guess it just depends. There are guardrails in all the places that matter 😂 We went counter clockwise, so when we got to the road, we were traveling down the mountain versus up - that might also make a difference as we were on the inside against the mountains instead of against the rail. Also I had read that going down makes for better views. We did not find it scary, but it was fun and beautiful.
