Whether you're in the area for Twilight, the outdoors, or what have you, make sure you have time to do this museum. You can get through it in under an hour but you could also spend a very long time there if you wish. So many cool finds to see.

Husband and nephew stopped here on a whim, and when I saw the photos, I made them take me back. All the items here were found washed up on the beach - from goods that fell off container ships, to items washed over by the Tsunamis in Japan. Very entertaining.

Great little stop before we headed out of town. John was a wealth of knowledge to talk to about his beach combing. Very cook things to look at. Our son enjoyed the scavenger hunt!

Saw the sign and stopped on a whim, not expecting too much but I was blown away! So many interesting finds and so well-curated too. It was really fun.

Folks don't miss this little gem in Forks. It may look a little of the beaten path but the stop is so worth it. We stopped in and met John on our last day in the area. It is amazing what things wind up on a beach in Washington. Things you would expect like whale bones or crab trap floats and even the occasional shoe. But the story behind all the items that he has found can't be missed. Even the research he did to see where these things came from are fascinating. Everything from a door from a NASA spaceship to items that came from a tsunami. Take the time and stop to talk to john and hear about all these things it is crazy and well worth your time.

He’s a multi-decade Beach-comber who’s collection is “off the chart!” It’s well laid-out, categorized display is stunning! The comber himself owns and operates, and was willing to tell stories of the finds he displays. Definitely a must-see, even if you’re just passing through.

John’s Beachcomber Museum can be spotted from the highway just before entering Forks, WA by the stack of huge floats hanging like a Christmas tree. Inside, your mind will be overwhelmed by the incredible assortment of strange finds John has made and carried off the beach. Container ship losses, tsunami brought treasures and glass floats of all sizes and shapes only starts the list. There’s a story behind most objects, including unusual fossil finds, and it is worth your time to ask John about the ones that pique your interest. John was featured in a film about his attempts to reconnect a signed Japanese soccer ball with the school who lost it in their recent tsunami. Take a half hour or more and be prepared to be surprised at the beachcomber’s collection!

I'll confess to being an incurable beachcomber, and this museum rocked me back on my heels with the sheer number of items scavenged from around the world's beaches. The collection is inspiring in showing the potential of what can be found, and it's sobering for showing how much debris washes up. In the section where containers of plastic fragments are displayed, one is reminded of the terrible pollution issue these materials represent. John, himself, is a great story teller of where and the circumstances he and his fellow beachcombers found the items. Of particular note are the relics of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011 that washed up on the US West Coast. This museum is great for young and old.

I do not know how long it took him to collect everything, but the place is loaded with various beach and ocean items. Furthermore it is very well organized and really enjoyable to stroll around and browse. Well worth the couple of bucks ...

It was worth a quick stop (since there isn't much to do in Forks). Adults are $5 kids are $2. Everything is neatly organized and labeled. Not much is for sale. We do collect bouy's, we mangaged to get John to sell us one for $5.
