Went for the FIREWATER experience. Lots of vendors but the experience of walking along the river and seeing the fires on the water was fun.

Caminar por el puente fue magico. Es una vista hermosa, aun en epoca de invierno. Seguro que regresare en verano, para volver a vivir la experiencia en otra epoca del año, que imagino debe ser especial.

I was born and raised in Rhode Island until my marriage took me out of state in 1972. I have always prided myself in being a Rhode Islander and have praised its history, beauty and cultural assets to all I meet. Recently I returned for a reunion, and my husband and I decided to take a gondola ride on the river for the first time. The river was filthy and full of trash. Before this feature is advertised, make sure it is clean or your visitors won't be very happy. Plus, the high fee of $99 is a bit much. I have been up the Eiffel Tower in Paris for under $50 US. I will not recommend this advertised attraction to anyone.

We took the Amtrak to Providence from Boston and enjoyed the city for a day. We strolled along on the Riverwalk and had a picnic lunch in the park. We really liked Providence.

at one time this river was hidden and running just underground but along came a great Mayor who had a bit of a checkered past/and future but he loved his city,he was they say The Prince of the City/book of the same name. Along came Waterfire that now has models all around the world and they come here to learn how they do it. Gondolas run here and an event during the warmer weather called Waterfire Outstanding..if in town do not miss it. no charge to see it. great entertainment and free seating, small amount of parking on the streets and in a nearby garage. A Not to be missed event.check for dates and times.

They have made it very accessible, with parks on the water, and multiple bridges for just getting across or multiple, attractive pathways at water level for sightseeing and for spending time. I did not get to see the Fire, being there on a week night, but from the photos, it has to be a must see. They have done an excellent job of cleaning this area up from a once industrial mess to a very nice attraction. Very well done.

We took a boat tour down the river and there's so much trash floating in it- it was sad. having said that, lots of history and lovely sites.

A área do rio foi totalmente remodelada, tendo recebido calçadões arborizados para caminhadas, lazer e momentos de relax.
Tudo muito lindo e aconchegante.

Disappointing, still has not been improved since I was last there 20 plus years ago; there are minimal walking paths, shops and eateries are few along the river.

We enjoy the water fire, and walking on its bank during those Saturdays. It provide nice breeze in the evening.
