Sensational visit! Super complete experience, with all the explanation about the process of vinification and the history of the Vinícola. Highlight to Nina, super expert attendant who served us with extreme sympathy and served us super well and helped us in the tasting of the top wines of the winemaker. I highly recommend the visit, and the tasting. Note 10!

We visited Casetello di ama a couple days ago and absolutely loved our experience. The staff was friendly, Nina toured us around the property.
For those who love art and wine there is no better place. The vineyard brings in an artist every year to build an installation on the property and the works are very cool. In my post you will see an awesome mirrored installation with windows showing the gorgeous Tuscan vistas as well as reflecting on the gorgeous villa behind you. For all you photo lovers, it makes for AWESOME photos!
The tour was special as we got to see the first day of harvest for the white wines. I've never seen a harvest before, it was pretty neat! They also showed us the wine making operation, storage room and the village of Ama.
The tasting room is set atop the hill with giant glass windows showing off the views.
We tasted their Castello di Ama Montebuoni D.O.G.C., their Haiku I.G.T, and my favorite of the normal tasting the Castello di Ama San Lorenzo. Fortunately for us, the owner was present and poured us a small tasting of their higher end and even more delicious Castello di Ama Bellavista. WOW was it good!
The wine is an 8/10, ambiance 9/10, staff 8/10.
Overall, A. I already recommended to friends and others we met in Tuscany to go and will keep letting people know how awesome this place is!

A perfect definition of a TOURIST TRAP.
Mega overpriced, terrible tour with someone who was just parachuted from Brazil and had no idea about the winery.
Ridiculously overpriced for what it is. Just buy a bottle at a supermarket, so much better value for money.
The “art” pieces are a joke - 5 years old type of art.

horrible experience. We had little to no direction as to what to do beforehand and it was hard to find parking in the first place. We get there on time wonder around until we find a building named wine tasting. The man at the front desk utterly ignores us for a good 15 minutes then when he turns to walk out of the room without acknowledging us at all once he had finished with the previous costumer I had to stop him and inform him that we had paid 180$ for a wine tour and we didn't know where to go. He informs me that we are late and the tour has started without us and that he will have someone come and get us and bring us to the tour. 10 minutes later a woman comes to say we have missed half of the tour but that if we hurry we might catch some of it. I tell her that we have been wating for half an hour for someone to acknowledge us. The man had said it was completely impossible for us to join the next tour. I asked the woman and she said we would not be able to join the next tour either and our best bet was to try and catch what remained of our tour. I muttered something about giving a bad review and suddenly they were only too happy to have us join the next tour. During the tour half of that group showed up late because they weren't sure of where to go either and then another group wondered up to us to ask where the tour started and seemed to be completely lost as well. Obviously castello di ama is not interested in hospitality or customer service. Once they have your money there's nothing you can do about it because they make you book way in advance in order to be graced with their presence and then completely ignore you when you get there. clearly it happens all the time. Happened to us and two other groups in the short time we were there and no one seemed bothered enough to help any of us. worst service I've ever experienced. would not recommend. we went to another tour that was not pre-booked just walked in and they were super nice and gave us a private tour for 1/5 of the price of this one.

Vi kom dit och tyckte det var ett underbart ställe med vyerna och vinprovnings-byggnaden. Läckert och fint. Dock var personalen allt annat än varm och tillmötesgående. De var inte serviceinriktade och serverade inte provglas utan bara dyra stora glas med kallt rätt vin. 11 grader kalla så vinet gjorde sig inte alls. När vi åkte därifrån var vi fascinerade över hur en känsla kan gå från en så positiv känsla till en så negativ.

This was an exceptional visit. From the greet through tour around (Andrea is great) to wine tasting and then lunch at the Ristoro. It’s one of the most interesting and history rich places in Tuscany. The area also has a few contemporary art installations which you should come and see. Last but not least, the wine is top notch for Chianti. Hope they keep up the good work and certainly will be back one day.

Overpriced and underwhelming !
What is going on in this beautiful place which always delivered on every level over the many years we have visited and enjoyed a summer evening there? It’s still of course a wonderful
setting in a beautiful location but the food was dull and lacked freshness, saved only by an excellent beef carpaccio. Staff too are charming BUT the prices being charged are not
matched by the quality of what’s on offer.
So disappointing……

Dieses Weingut hat uns ausnehmend gut gefallen. Sehr gute Weine, nicht zu teuer, modernes aber gediegenes Ambiente, der Service ist aufmerksam, höflich und kompetent aber nicht aufdringlich. Extrawünsche sind kein Problem. Wir waren überrascht von der Breite des Angebotes. Hier gibt es auch Parfum und vieles andere zu kaufen. Und nebenbei kann man auch noch zeitgenössische Kunst besichtigen. Die Zufahrt ist neu gemacht, es sind genügend Parkplätze vorhanden.

We did the degustation wine tasting with two wines and the visit of the tiny borgo without a castle that was destroyed and we didn't know.. Silvia was very nice as a guide but for the price paid 65€ each person is an exaggeration. Overrated.

Hi Dmark! How did you book your tour? My husband and I are planning our trip and it doesn't seem that easy looking at their website. Did you book it day of? Do they have tours running every so often?

Gostaria de saber como ir até a vinícola. Tem trem ou onibus que para perto? Existe taxi ou uber que vá até o local? serviço de transfer? Não quero alugar carro por razões óbvias! Risos!

A razão óbvia seria não querer beber e dirigir? Eu sei que parece estranho, mas é o que a maioria faz. Por duas razões: 1. Até onde eu sei, não existe outro jeito de chegar na maioria das vinícolas. A menos que você pague um desses tours que te levam nas vinícolas que eles querem, mas na boa, é muito mais legal fazer sozinho e ir onde vc quiser e passar o tempo que vc quiser - e mais barato tb. 2. Você não vai beber até cair... É só degustação, você toma no máximo o equivalente a uma taça de vinho. Não vai afetar sua capacidade de dirigir, e não tem problema nenhum com as autoridades. Não existe blitz, essas coisas. A região toda é de vinhos, o que todo mundo está fazendo por ali é... bebendo ;) Espero ter ajudado!
