I chose to do this tasting because I know the excellence of Planeta and I wanted to learn more about the many varieties it produces.
We visited the estate with vineyards and almond groves and then the wineries called “invisible” and really such, which do not affect the landscape. Impressive ability to manage the raw material, the grapes, and make it sublime in winemaking!
We tasted the oils and then enjoyed the simple but accurate lunch, accompanied by two other excellent wines.
Throughout this itinerary, Chiara accompanied us and “instructed” us who was competent, helpful and very kind!
Cute the presence of Federica and Ms who cooked!

The previous day we had been at the Planeta Sciaranuova winery on Mt Etna (see that review) for a tasting lunch. We were hard pressed to think Planeta Noto could be as good but it was. We had a tour of the property to start the experience which was lovely. We then sat down for a tasting with paired food. All the wines were very good and the snacks were paired perfectly! Side note: the spicy almonds were a hit. I forgot our hosts name but she had a passion and knowledge of the wines (and food) that was top notch.

As always a nice experience. Excellent wines combined with a fine dining of Mrs. Mirella.Ringrazio Viviana that nn being present at the event left us in good hands, young staff very pleasant, willing

Very disappointing. It didn't say anywhere that you have to make an appointment in advance. So we were at the door, the staff were there but didn't let us in. Although we were there during official opening hours. Business lost!

A very nice winery.
The staff are friendly and speaks excellent English.
You don’t need to do a wine tasting if you don’t want to. The staff helps you and explain the difference and characteristics of each wine.

There were 4 of us for a visit announced as “complete”. Very friendly welcome. Quick tour of the cellar. The methods here are industrial: 4 stainless steel tanks of 400Hl; suffice to say that we are in the big guns, not hand-sewn. The wines are modern in the sense of the 2000s: thick, tannic, full-bodied. Only 3 wines to taste. This is not generous. Excellent lunch of small starters. Fortunately because at €80 for two, it’s the least we could ask for. In short, nice, but we are amateurish

Da Planeta zu unseren Lieblingsweingütern gehört, war der Besuch für uns ein Muss. Erst bei der Buchung haben wir festgestellt, das Weingut sechs verschiedene Standorte betreibt, aber die Buonivini-Tour sagte uns am meisten zu. Bei der Anfahrtsbeschreibung auf der Buchungsbestätigung verwirrt der Hinweis, dass man unabhängig vom Navi die markierte Route ab dem Bahnhof genommen werden soll. Kommt man von der Autobahn, ist nämlich das Weingut auf einem kleinen roten Schild nach rechts ausgeschildert. Auch wenn man den Eindruck hat, ans Ende der Welt zu fahren, ist man richtig. Trotz des sehr berühmten Namens ist das Weingut klein und bescheiden, der Weinkeller ist unterirdisch gebaut und vom "Dach" hat man einen tollen Blick auf das Gelände, auf dem neben Weinreben auch Mandelbäume gepflanzt sind.
Unsere englischsprachige Führerin hat unserer internationalen Gruppe (Südkorea, USA und UK) mit großer Sachkenntnis, viel Spaß und großer Geduld wegen der vielen Fragen eine umfassende Information zur Philosophie der Familie Planeta gegeben. Nach der Weinprobe mit vier sehr unterschiedlichen Weinen und einer Probe von drei Olivenölen, einer kurzen Führung durch den Keller und einem kleinen Spaziergang um das Gebäude gab es ein hervorragendes Antipastiangebot mit passendem Wein und zum Schluss ein Essen a la Mamma, die stolz die Pasta und das Gemüse präsentierte. Nach einem Dessert gab es einen Nachschlag in der Vinothek mit Dessertwein und Espresso.
Das Marketing ist zwar noch lange nicht so gut wie in Südtirol, aber ist auch zweitrangig, wenn man vorher Angebot und Preise geprüft hat. Es ist richtig, dass vor Ort keine günstigeren Preise angeboten werden, aber eine Flasche to go sollte durchaus drin sein.
Unsere Gruppe hatte jedenfalls sehr viel Spaß und wir werden uns beim Trinken eines Planeta-Weins gerne an den Tag erinnern.

On arrival, we weren’t sure what to expect as the buildings and grounds are unassuming but we needn’t have worried as this was an excellent tour and tasting. Our guide catered for a mixed group switching effortlessly between English and Italian, providing us with an insight into the wine making process and background to the overall Planeta journey. A nice touch was to taste the wines in different locations as we toured the vineyard, this allowed us time to smell and digest the notes before the next, so often it’s one after another and you don’t have time to savour.
After the tour we took on an aperitif and some lovely Sicilian appetisers which perfectly complimented the wines.
Overall a very good visit, knowledgeable and informative guide, lovely wines, would definitely recommend.

Prima di partire avevo prenotato una visita in questa cantina su consiglio di diversi amici, che erano già stati.
E ora posso capire il perchè.
Innanzitutto è stata una piacevolissima sorpresa scoprire che la degustazione era riservata a me e al mio compagno, senza aggregarci a nessun gruppo.
La signora che ci ha accompagnati è stata estremamente gentile ed ospitale, facendoci sentire come a causa sua.
L'esperienza è iniziata in una saletta privata (appena ristrutturata da solo un anno, come tutto il resto della struttura, dove è chiaro l'intervento di un architetto sapiente): qui abbiamo assaggiato quattro vini bianchi.
Poi abbiamo visitato la zona dell'imbottigliamento e quella delle barrique.
Per nostra fortuna era periodo di vendemmia, abbiamo assistito a scene meravigliose e siamo stati deliziati dai racconti dell'enologo che era lì presente.
Infine abbiamo camminato per i vigneti, i loro mandorleti e gli alberi di carruba, per tornare nella nostra saletta privata.
Qui abbiamo degustato una selezione di tre loro oli, un aperitivo fatto di tanti assaggi squisiti (nota di merito alla focaccia pomodoro, olive e acciughe) ed infine il pranzo.
Penso di aver mangiato una delle paste più buone di sempre, con sugo di zucchine e menta.
Complimenti per l'ottimo lavoro, è stata un'esperienza meravigliosa che ci porteremo sempre nel cuore.

Degustazione di 4 vini Grand cru e 3 tipi di olio d'oliva. Molto piacevole e professionale con visita della cantina e aperitivo finale, stuzzichini inclusi davvero buoni. La guida e il personale della cantina molto disponibili e preparati. Vini ottimi.
