Mit is a personable, polite guy. A super experienced pilot who knows the Golden Bay Area extremely well. So knowledgeable and keen to give you an interesting, informative running commentary throughout the flight. Could answer any question in depth and with ease.
The flight speaks for itself. We did the “Ultimate flight” and added on a little extra to see even more of Abel Tasman in addition to what was included.
90 minutes of exhilaration. So beautiful seeing the topography of this remote area by air.

This was the highlight of our South Island tour, BUT, allow yourself plenty of time to travel the Takaka Hill if travelling there from Nelson! Mit was a hard case; from the tall tales told to put us at ease as we taxied off, to the very informative narrative as we flew over the most stunning scenery. He put the nervous flyer at ease with his matter-of-fact explanation of air pockets :-) and we would highly recommend taking a flight with Mit.

Wow!!!! what an amazing flight.
Weather was looking doubtful but thankfully turned out to be a picture perfect day away from the mountains. Mit was fantastic and rearranged a couple of things to suit the weather .
Mit was very entertaining and very knowledgeable, kept us entertained through the whole trip. Absolutely amazing and highly recommend.

Fly with Mit. Wow. what a fantastic day. The weather was perfect, the flight was one in a lifetime!
Flew up the Cob valley, round, over, behind the Devils Teeth and then on to land at Turamuwiwi Dunes for lunch and a dip in the ocean. Back over Farewell Spit and then round the bay back to the airport. The most amazing day. Mit was so helpful and full of stories and jokes - never a dull moment.
Top advice would be to plan your trip with Mit, and though I'm sure his standard scenic flights are lovely, being able to tailor something a bit more adventurous was so so so good.

What can we say....Mit was fabulous. We were very lucky with the weather and had a most amazing combo flight.
Mit was recommended by a friend and we certainly were not disappointed.
The email communication was perfect and he worked in with our timing.
The commentary during the flight as informative and entertaining. He even took time at the end to give us tips on where else to go and what to do; doing his bit to help other local businesses.
We know tourism has been tough and with the closure of Heaphy Track it's been particularly hard. We are happy to have helped in a small way and learned so much about the Golden Bay area.
Mit, thanks so much for a memorable day.

We hiked the Heaphy track in early Jan 2022 and didn’t organise our car relocation/shuttle in time. Fortunately for us we learned of Mit’s flight service from Karamea airport to Takaka and signed ourselves up. We didn’t have any expectations for the flight (other than getting back to our car). Mit’s service was absolutely fantastic! He was informative and incredibly knowledgeable about the region. We were all blown away by the close up panoramic views we experienced, even on a cloudy day. Mit’s good humour and fun going attitude certainly kept us on our toes. We loved the flight and we’re already looking organise another scenic flight. Fabulous experience!

Had the worst misfortune of mucking up the booking. While accidents happen, what was worse was Mit's attitude. We booked the wrong day! Mit was aggressive and rude and not interested in helping. We were hoping to reimburse him for his trip from Golden Bay to Karamea, but he wanted us to pay the full flight again, even though he hadn't used the same fuel without our bikes and four people on the plane. He had no interest in a conversation to work through the best outcome for everyone. He didn't even call us on the day to find out where we were...! I guess Christmas is off for the kids. I recommend the other options who actually offer a friendly service and text you to confirm booking etc.

Thanks for your comments and feed back.
I was never aggressive or rude and I did help, I flew you and I gave you a discount which if you ungrateful for happy to invoice you the outstanding.
Yes you did book for the wrong day and as per out terms and conditions:
"In the event that the customer fails to show up for the booked flight at the booked time, and no cancellation as been received, then 100% of the total fare will be charged to the client.
These are very standard terms all business work too and stick to.
When I arrived at Karamea to pick up my first flight of passengers who had booked for the correct day I did discusses the matter with and very calmly and you and the party where happy and calm and you in fact very apologetic about your mistake that you made and had wasted my time, my fuel and my hours on the aircraft, you in fact arranged a "bribe" in your word for me which is no very becoming of a police officer.
It was only when I said that you would have to pay again that a member of you party then became aggressive and tried to bully me into taking you for free.
Yes I was very busy and you are lucky I could fit you in at all, I was not "not interested in a conversation" I was trying to do my job which you made a lot harder. My attitude was no one of if you don't want to fly, it was if you don't want to pay, unfortunately I am not a charity and you are no a charity case
If I had rung you on the day you were booked for would you have take the flight bearing in mind you hadn't yet arrived in Karamea from Christchurch? NO is answer, so I would have charged you anyway of the missed flight.
Once again, thank you for your review Jason, I know you all enjoyed the flight and thank me profusely on the day for the flight, fitting you in and giving you a discount!! For that you are most welcome.
Don't forget this was your mistake not mine.

The ONLY company to use for the Heaphy Track. Mit is the man. Thank you very much!
Collected us from Karamea Airport and landed in the PADDOCK next to the start of the Heaphy Track. Unreal.

We are planning to walk the heaphy track and fly with Mit to Browns hut to start the walk. Just wondering how close to the start of the track Mit lands the plane?

The landing strip is quite close to Browns Hut, a 20 to 30 minute walk. To get an exact idea I would advise emailing Mit directly at Adventure Flights.

He lands in a field just North of Browns Hut. Maybe a thirty minute walk? Here is the google like to the field: goo.gl/maps/6mCEFTaKTSB2 The coordinates (in case if my link doesn't work are 40°49'35.1"S 172°28'53.1"E This is dependent on how wet the field is. If it has rained a lot he may not be able to land there. Enjoy!
