Good day Ask loz_lozza_atw only, what is your advise to staying in Nozawa Onsen Town vs staying in Hotel Metropolitan Nagano?

For our family of 4 , we are either beginners to ski and we are wondering how to lug our belongings to ski area by bus. Is it easy to take bus to ski area? Is it more cost effective to rent a car than to take a bus to ski area?

Which ski is nearest to this hotel?

Thank you in advance!

Nozawaonsen is 1 hour 45 minutes each way from Nagano so that's a big chunk of time out of your day if skiing is the holiday objective.

Search "5 Best Ski Resorts in Nagano" for other resorts close to Nagano but all will entail travel to and from. If you're set on staying in the ski fields, suggest you stay at a ryokan for a true Japanese stay experience - you can stay in a western style hotel anywhere.

Perhaps stay some nights in ski fields to avoid long travel times and a few in Nagano at beginning or end. Take your own lunch of you can to avoid queues in ski fields.

Hi, I don't know about the onsen, we stayed at the Hotel Metropolitan Nagano. We picked the hotel because it was very close to the train station, which made it easy for travelling. I would recommend looking into buses that go to and from the ski areas to see if they have a special deal.

Not sure about this question. Please ask the hotel.
