Hi, I am looking at this hotel for a half term break with my husband. We are late 50s/early 60s, active and like exploring historic places. We enjoy good food and that is important to us, especially local specialities. What can we do in the vicinity of this hotel and do you have any useful advice? Roberta
I think the question food is very much a personal matter and we certainly had no complaints about this hotel. Every day you were given a choice of a meat, fish or vegetarian dish. My favourite was the rabbit. I'm sure if you spoke to the Restaurant Manager they would always be able to offer you something suitable. We never actually ate elsewhere, so I'm unable to comment on others.
My advice: Don't expect traditional English
I don't recommend the hotel food at all.
There are plenty of restaurants 5 minutes walk into town.
We had a tour of the island that was enjoyable. Also spent a day at the Poseidon gardens and swimming pools, fabulous place.
There are Botanical gardens a short bus ride from the hotel.
