Hashimoto Ryokan seems to be one of the only ryokan within the very small town right next to the Muro-ji Temple at the foot of the famous red bridge. Ryokan has been operated by the same family for over 140 years and current proprietor and son are wonderfully cordial and polite, but with no English language. Ryokan has approx 7 rooms of varying sizes, full dinner (wonderful mountain yam four ways!) and breakfast. Across the street the family also operates a small udon café. Ryokan is quite old style – shared bathrooms etc., but rooms are large and beautifully appointed. Located right across the river from Muro-ji, the ryokan affords some beautiful views throughout the day and night. They are happy to arrange pick up and drop off service at the Kintetsu Station, if needed.
